摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external peripheral device that has a simple circuit so that it can be driven normally even when the power consumed temporarily exceeds bus power. SOLUTION: The external peripheral device includes an interface 10 capable of supplying electric power from a host system in addition to transferring data from the host system; a main device part 12 where the current required to operate itself could temporarily exceed a supply current from the host system; a data transmission control part 11 for transmitting data between the host system and the main device part via the interface; and a current buffer means 14 which, when the current consumed by the main device part 12 and the data transmission control part 11 falls below the supply current, causes the supply current to be supplied to the main device part 12 and the data transmission control part 11 while accumulating a surplus of the current and which, when the current consumed exceeds the supply current, causes a discharge current accumulated to be supplied to the main device part 12 and the data transmission control part 11 in addition to the supply current.
