    • A method for fabricating an integrated circuit device is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a substrate. A first photolithography process is performed to define a first pattern on the substrate. The first pattern includes a first trench segment. A second photolithography process is performed which defines a second pattern on the substrate. The second pattern includes a second trench segment. The second trench segment includes an overlap area with the first trench segment. The embodiment of the method further includes etching the substrate according the first and second patterns; the etching includes forming a via hole defined by the overlap area. The first trench segment, second trench segment, and via hole may be used to form a dual damascene interconnect structure.

    • A portable personal positioner for determining the geographical position of the user without employing the Global Positioning System (GPS) comprising a signal/position display and a traveling speed/distance measuring sensor, wherein the signal/position display is equipped with microprocessor, magneto-resistive sensor and altimeter to measure traveling direction signal along X and Y axis and position signal along Z axis of the use respectively, and to transmit the measured signals to the microprocessor for recording and access, meanwhile the traveling speed/distance measuring sensor is also to measure traveling speed and distance of a user and transmit the measured signals by means of wired or wireless transmission to the microprocessor for recording and access, after data processing from the microprocessor, to obtain the data of traveling speed, traveling distance, geographical position and track of traveling of the user within a time period and display on LCD screen of the signal/position display to determine geographical position without employing the satellite navigation system of GPS; besides, the personal positioner may be further equipped with a cardiac pulse detector for detecting the pulse of heart of a user, and the detected pulse signal is transmitted to the microprocessor of the signal/position display by means of wired or wireless transmission for recording and access to display electrocardiogram or cardiac pulse signal of a user on LCD screen of the signal/position display.

    • An omnidirectional wireless pedometer includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes a vibration sensor, a transmitter control circuit, an oscillating circuit and a transmitting antenna. The vibration sensor detects a vibration signal when a user walks or jogs and transmits the vibration signal to the transmitter control circuit. Then, the vibration signal is transmitted to the oscillating circuit which generates an oscillating signal and forwards the oscillating signal to the transmitting antenna for transmitting out wirelessly. The receiver comprises three receiving antennas respectively arranged in X, Y, and Z directions. The receiving antennas are capable to receive pace signal from different directions and generate a resonance signal. Subsequently, the resonance signal is transmitted to a receiver control circuit for processing, which generates a data signal to be displayed in a displayed unit.

    • An electronic wristwatch-type exercise signal detecting apparatus includes a watchcase having an electronic vibration detector provided therein for detecting a vibrating signal from a user in taking exercise. The detected vibrating signal is sent via a vibrating signal detecting circuit to a micro-controller in a control circuit, so that a numerical value representing the vibrating signal received by the micro-controller is shown on a display unit on the watchcase. An acceleration detector is further mounted in the watchcase for detecting an accelerating signal from the user in taking exercise. Moreover, a pair of electrically conductive contact areas is arranged at a bottom of the watchcase for detecting the user's heartbeat signal.

    • A braking assembly with a manageable self-generating power energy is disclosed. A pair of curved braking plates are disposed between the stator and the rotor. A pulling mechanism is provided on the stator for pulling two free ends of two curved braking plates. A plurality of first permanent magnets are fixed to the outer circumferential surface of each the curved braking plates. Moreover, at least one power-generating coil is provided on a stator of the braking assembly nearby the permanent magnets for generating an AC voltage when the rotary central shaft rotates. A control circuit receives the AC voltage and rectifies and stabilizes the AC voltage to generate a DC voltages to drive the motor of the pulling mechanism to rotate, and by means of the pulling mechanism, the braking force of the braking assembly is controlled.
