    • Identified in the textual data of a web page (3) are words that have a geographic association, by looking up each word in a location database (13). From these words, sentences of one or more words are generated. Geographic references (32) are identified in the textual data by looking up in the location database (13) matching geographic entries corresponding to one of the sentences. To each geographic reference (32) assigned are the geographic coordinates assigned in the location database (13) to the respective matching geographic entry. Furthermore, the geographic references (32) are linked on the web page (3) to executable program code enabling a user to access location specific information based on the geographic coordinates associated with the respective geographic reference (32). Any web page (3) and particularly any geographic reference (32) on a web page (3) can thereby be enabled with location specific information and navigation functionality.

    • The invention relates to a night vision system for vehicles. According to the invention, the road in front of the vehicle is stereoscopically recorded via two night vision-capable cameras, e.g. infrared or low-light-level cameras that are mounted in the front of the vehicle at a distance from one another. Corresponding stereoscopic image display devices permit the driver to observe the road in front of the vehicle in three-dimensions. Objects located in front of the vehicle can be detected in critical areas by means of additional image evaluating devices and can be differently accentuated or marked in the image representation. The night vision system can be designed to also permit a two-dimensional display of images or data alternatively or in conjunction with 3D representation. In an enhanced embodiment, head movements and/or the line of sight of the driver are/is detected and used for a corresponding tracking of the image display.

    • For providing navigational information to a user of a mobile device (150), a browser (160) of a mobile device (150) is used to access through HTIP a remote computerized LBS server (100). With the location based services data from the LBS server (100), the browser (160) receives, in addition to geographical positions of points of interest, navigation command codes and at least one URL associated with a local HTTP server (211) located in the mobile device (150). The browser (160) receives instructions from the user for selecting a point of interest and a navigation command code. The local HTTP server (211) is accessed from the browser (160) by using the URL in association with the selected point of interest and the selected navigation command code. In response to the URL received in the local HTTP server (211), a navigation function is executed in the mobile device (150) in accordance with the selected navigation command code and the geographical position of the selected point of interest.
