    • A dielectric filter, includes a dielectric block including a plurality of elongated sub-blocks each having a pair of longitudinally opposing end faces and an outer surface, said sub-blocks being disposed adjacent one another; a plurality of longitudinally extending through-holes, at least one through-hole being formed between each corresponding pair of opposing end faces of the respective sub-blocks; a plurality of inner conductors, one inner conductor being formed on each of the inner surfaces of said plurality of through-holes, said plurality of inner conductors each having two opposing ends; an outer conductor formed on the outer surface of said dielectric block such that (i) the outer conductor is not electrically coupled to the respective ends of the inner conductor of every other sub-block such that the ends of those inner conductors are open-circuited, and (ii) the outer conductor is electrically coupled to the respective ends of the inner conductor of the remaining sub-blocks such that the ends of those inner conductors are short-circuited; a plurality of connection conductors through which respective parts of the inner conductors located between corresponding open-circuited opposing ends are connected to said outer conductor; and an electromagnetic coupling preventing structure formed between each adjacent pair of sub-blocks and extending from one end face of each of said sub-blocks toward a central part of said sub-blocks between the two opposing end faces, wherein said dielectric filter produces a band elimination transfer function over some frequencies and a pass transfer function over other frequencies in use.

    • A dielectric filter includes: a dielectric block having a pair of opposing end faces; a through-hole formed between the pair of opposing end faces of the dielectric block; an inner conductor formed on the inner surface of the through-hole, the inner conductor being open-circuited at both its ends; an outer conductor formed on the outer surface of the dielectric block; and a connection conductor by which a central part of the inner conductor between its two opposing ends is connected to the outer conductor. Although the dielectric filter is composed of the single dielectric block, it behaves as a band-elimination filter having pass-bands around the elimination-band centered at a trap frequency wherein elimination occurs at both edges of the pass-bands.

    • A surface mount type receptacle of a coaxial connector is provided which is mounted on a substrate having a hot-line pattern conductor and a top earth pattern conductor formed on a top surface thereof, and a bottom earth pattern conductor formed on a bottom surface thereof. A dielectric case of the receptacle has a concavity formed to extend from the top surface thereof toward the center thereof. In the concavity, inner and outer conductors are arranged. At least one hot-line terminal is formed in the case to be electrically connected to the inner conductor and extend from the inner conductor through the side surface of the case to the bottom surface thereof, and an earth terminal is formed in the case to be electrically connected to the outer conductor and extend from the outer conductor to the bottom surface thereof, the earth terminal having a main portion thereof provided in the case to oppose to the bottom surface of the case. The earth terminal is formed between the main portion of the hot-line terminal and the top surface of the substrate to decrease an area where the hot-line terminal opposes to the bottom earth pattern conductor when the receptacle is mounted on the top surface of the substrate. Further, the top earth pattern conductor is formed between the main portion of the hot-line terminal and the top surface of the substrate.

    • A miniaturized dielectric filter unit exhibiting desired characteristics is formed in which a plurality of resonators are disposed within a dielectric block. A plurality of internal conductors are disposed within the dielectric block. An external conductor and an input/output electrode are formed on an outer surface of the dielectric block. A slit having an electrode therein, which is electrically connected to the input/output electrode, is provided each of between two adjacent through-holes having the internal conductors therein. Thus, unwanted coupling between the input/output sharing filters is prevented, and an external coupling circuit is configured by capacitive coupling. It is thus possible to individually design the respective filters and further to enhance easy designing of the overall filter unit. A transmitting/receiving-sharing unit and a multiplexer, both of which are similar to the above-described dielectric filter unit, are also provided.

    • A connector is disclosed which is to be mounted to a coaxial cable having an internal conductor, an internal insulator, cable outer (or shield) conductor, and a cable outer insulator. The connector comprises a housing formed of a connector outer conductor and a concentric inner contact. The connector outer conductor includes a cylindrical main portion and a rear cover portion. An outer conductor adapter is fixed to the main portion of the connector outer conductor and is adapted for insertion between the internal insulator and the cable outer conductor of the coaxial cable. A sleeve portion, which can include either a single securing member or two securing members to be wrapped about the coaxial cable, is formed integrally with the connector outer conductor. The inner contact is provided at its rear end with a slot into which the internal conductor is to be thrust, and at its forward end with a plurality of slits to provide an elastic firm holding force for holding a mating contact of another cable. An insulating member can be provided on a rear end of the inner contact. The insulating member is frustoconically shaped and includes a tapered groove in its front face to squeeze the rear end of the inner contact so as to positively engage the internal conductor in the slot. Solder can be provided about the internal conductor for more positive contact.

    • The invention provides a technique of adjusting the mutual capacitance of resonant through-holes in a dielectric filter while maintaining the shape of input/output electrodes constant without causing a change in the external capacitance. In one such dielectric filter, a plurality of resonant through-holes are formed in a dielectric block, each resonant through-hole including a large-diameter hole and a small-diameter hole, a step being formed at the boundary between the large-diameter hole and the small-diameter hole, the inner wall of each said resonant through-hole being covered with an inner conductor; an outer conductor formed on outer surfaces of said dielectric block except for an end surface in which ends of the respective large-diameter holes are located; and input/output electrodes which are formed on a side face such that said input/output electrodes are coupled with said large-diameter holes; wherein the center axes of said large-diameter holes are deviated from the center axes of the corresponding small-diameter holes, thereby increasing the mutual capacitance between the large-diameter holes.
