    • An improved connector terminal is provided that is capable of being inserted more easily into a terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing.The connector terminal comprises a wire connecting part and an electric contact part that may be inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing having an opening edge. The electric contact part includes a rectangular cylindrical body having two pairs of opposing walls for a total of four walls and a guide protrusion protruding continually from the tip of at least one of the four walls of the body. The guide protrusion has a guide surface that slides along the opening edge of the connector housing when the electric contact part is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber. The guide protrusion is structured to protrude from one of the four walls so as to have substantially the same width as the wall width or structured so that a bent guide surface is formed by extending and bending tips of at least two of the four walls that have a width smaller than the width of the respective wall.

    • A waterproof connector includes a female connector housing and a cylindrical packing holder. The female connector housing has a peripheral edge of an opening through which a male connector housing is inserted. The packing holder has a peripheral edge of an opening. This peripheral edge contacts the inside of the peripheral edge of the opening in the female connector housing. The peripheral edge of the opening in the packing holder has end portions formed by partially cutting the packing holder. Recesses are formed in the end portions on the peripheral edge of the opening in the packing holder. Projections are formed on portions of the female connector housing, which portions correspond to the end portions of the packing holder. The projections are fitted into the recesses so as to join the packing holder and the female connector housing. When the packing holder is inserted into the female connector housing, the peripheral edge of the opening in the packing holder is joined integrally with the peripheral edge of the opening in the female connector housing. Thus, when the male connector is fitted, it is mated smoothly with the female connector housing without causing the end portions of the peripheral edge of the packing holder to hinder mating.

    • An inertia locking-type waterproof connector is provided in which male and female connectors having a waterproof packing interposed therebetween are fitted together by an inertia force produced when abutting a retaining projection of an elastic lock arm against an engagement portion for engaging the retaining projection. The retaining projection, engagement portion, and packing are positioned so that, during insertion of the male connector housing into the female connector housing, the initial abutment of the retaining projection with the engagement portion coincides with the initial abutment of the seal lip with either the male connector housing or the female connector housing.
