    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase discharge capacity of a positive electrode of a nonaqueous lithium secondary battery using a lithium-transition metal composite oxide in the positive electrode than conventional one. SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery has a negative electrode, a positive electrode formed by coating a composite oxide including lithium and transition metal as the positive active material, a separator interposed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive active material of the lithium secondary battery is globular particles obtained in such a way that a transition metal compound, a lithium compound and water are mixed in a prescribed ratio to prepare slurry, the slurry is sprayed with a spray dryer having a four fluid nozzle, dried, and baked.
