    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open MRI apparatus with wide opening height without sharply changing the magnet side and with similar operability as that of a conventional berth by thinning a top plate in the open MRI apparatus.
      SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus is constituted of MRI which includes: an open magnet, a subject; a gradient magnetic field coil; a transmission/reception coil; a transmission/reception system; a gradient magnetic field power source; and a computer. The apparatus has a thin top plate which can be floated from a base by air pressure, and a berth base which constrains a moving direction and moving distance of the top plate. By this structure, the open MRI apparatus with the wide opening height is provided which thins the top plate, the magnet side of which is not sharply changed, and which has the similar operability as that of the conventional berth.
