    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide peripheral equipment interface voltage controlling technique capable of supplying power from a system device to a peripheral equipment requiring large power consumption without using an external power supply.
      SOLUTION: The system device 10 reads out the information of a recommended voltage supply range for operating a connected peripheral equipment (IEEE1394 equipment) 30 from the connected equipment 30 by using a peripheral equipment interface (IEEE11394 interface) 20 and changes supply voltage so as to coincide with the recommended voltage. The equipment 30 detects the supply voltage, and when voltage coincident with the recommended voltage is supplied, the supplied voltage is used as it is to drive the equipment 30. When the supplied voltage is lower than the recommended voltage, the impossibility of obtaining necessary power from the system device 10 is judged and the equipment 30 is driven by an external power supply. When no device is connected or a connected equipment has no information of recommended voltage, interface controllers (IEEE1394 controllers) 13, 33 reduce the supplied voltage.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten write time by writing data in a nonvolatile cache memory from a host processor first, and reporting the end to the host processor and then transferring the data to a magnetic disk device. CONSTITUTION:A processor 5 when receiving a command to the magnetic disk device from the host processor through a host interface 1 sends a power-ON command to a power source control part 7 to power ON the magnetic disk device. Then when the received command indicates a writing processing, the processor 5 retrieves whether or not there is a data area to be written in the nonvolatile semiconductor cache memory 4 backed up by a battery 3 and writes the data in the prescribed data area according to whether or not there is a cache hit. After all data sent from the host processor are written in the cache memory 4, the end is reported to the host processor and the data are transferred to the magnetic disk device.

    • PURPOSE:To make main and service processors read and write data targeting all FFs, to enable the service processor to conduct it simultaneously, and to enable communications between both processors by providing an address decoder, a conciliation means, and a switching means. CONSTITUTION:Data can be written into and read out of not only a FF 16, but also all the FFs 16 included in all hardwares from a main processor 1 through the process of detecting 4, 5 accesses, conciliating.switching 6, 7 access requests, and selecting 12-15 processors. Similarly, data can be written into and read out of the FF 16 not only through a scanning circuit, but also in synchronism with the processor 1 from the service processor 2. Since both processors can written into and read out of mutual data the FF 16 in tuning, communications between both can be conducted securely without using the interruption between the processors.
