A compensating current is calculated from the detected load current through a notch filter. The compensating current is calculated by deducting the estimated filter current from an AC voltage. By obtaining a voltage when there is no load change, the voltage is controlled. The flicker suppression device can be used even if a capacitive device such as a harmonic filter is connected to a load circuit.
