    • PURPOSE:To enhance performance in temperature adjustment response immediately after the start of operation in the captioned temperature control, in which correction is made based on sunshine rate, by constituting an air conditioner in such a manner that, within the preset time after the start of operation, the temperature is controlled by using predetermined sunshine rate for correction regardless of true sunshine rate. CONSTITUTION:Within preset operation time tC1 after the start of operation of an air conditioner, signals on the atmospheric temperature 15, room temperature 16, preset temperature, etc., which are input into a microcomputer 21 via an input interface 22, undergo correcting-operation-processing based on predetermined sunshine rate Q1 regardless of the data from a sunshine rate sensor 14 to regulate actuators 26-30, and a compressor, etc. for control over air conditioning. After the preset time tC1 has elapsed, mean sunshine rate is computed based on the data from the sensor 14 as usual for the said control. With this constitution, performance in temperature adjustment response immediately after the start of operation can be enhanced.

    • PURPOSE:To improve defrost capacity in time of outside air temperature being low, by constituting a compressor so as to forcibly drive it within a differential ratio for the specified time long after water temperature in a heater core reaches the specified one in time of a defrost mode. CONSTITUTION:When a defrost mode is selected, outside temperature 14 is compared with differential temperatures T01 and T02 even in time of combined use with an air conditioner mode, and thereby the outside temperature 14 is set between these temperatures T01 and T02 whereby a compressor is nonoperational till water temperature Tw in a heater core 7 comes more than the setting water temperature Tw1, and when the temperature comes more than the Tw1, it is selected to the defrost mode. Moreover, till passing away the setting time TC1 from time when the water temperature Tw comes to the setting value Tw1, a water cock 30 opens, driving the compressor (unillustrated herein), then air is cooled while its humidity is removed and delivered out of a defroster blowoff port 70 after being heated. With this constitution, even when the outside temperature is low, defrost functions can be brought into full play.

    • PURPOSE:To enable instant heating, by a providing an automobile cooler-heater with an indoor heat exchanger air supply quantity controller exclusive for a heat pump, so that the quantity of supplied air is regulated to be low and the pressure at the high pressure side of the cycle and the temperature of blown-off air are heightened. CONSTITUTION:When a compressor 1 is driven, a coolant flows, as shown by arrows in the drawing, in heating operation and the pressure at the high pressure side of the cycle rises. If the quantity of blown-off air from an indoor heat exchanger 8 is a low value G1, the pressure at the high pressure side rises further and the temperature of the blown-off air can be made higher. However, the pressure at the high pressure side cannot exceed a limit level P1 for the protection of the coolant and component appliances. When the pressure has reached a level (a), a high pressure switch 11 acts so that an indoor heat exchanger air supply quantity controller 14 is operated by the output of the switch to change the quantity of the air to a high value G2. As a result, the pressure drops to a level (b). When the temperature of the air falls to such a level as to give no feeling of uncomfortableness and the pressure becomes the low level P2, a low pressure switch 12 acts to operate the controller 14 so that the quantity of the blown-off air becomes the value G1 again and its temperature is heightened.

    • PURPOSE:To improve fuel efficiency with an air conditoner in which a compressor is driven or stopped depending on the temperatue of a vehicle room, by driving the compressor, which remains stopped at the initial stage of starting and acceleration of an engine, when the output of the engine has reached a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature Tr of a vehicle room 12 is detected to be higher than a set level TrST, a clutch 3 is engaged to drive a compressor 1 by an engine 2 to control the temperature of the vehicle room. In that case, if the compressor 1 remains stopped in the initial stage of acceleration of the engine 2 at its starting, the drive of the compressor 1 is not started until the engine output (product of engine's torque and engine's rotational frequency) reaches a set level. As a result, in the initial stage of acceleration at the engine starting with a large rate of increase in the consumption of fuel, the ratio of drive of the compressor 1 is decreased to reduce the fuel consumption.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve ventilation without providing considerable number of additional parts to the conventional air-conditioning system by deciding whether ventilation is necessary then switching to the maximum inner air supply condition on the basis of the decision results and discharging the supplied inner air to the outside of cabin. CONSTITUTION:The cabin temperature Tc is compared with the room temperature Tc1 set for forceful ventilation to decide the operating condition of compressor if Tc>Tc1, and if it is controlled to operate the compressor, forceful ventilation is performed for the setting time T1 under full suction of inner air. It is performed by communicating the inner air take-in port 2 through an inner/outer air switching door 1 while bringing the ventilation door 31 to such position as to communicate the exhaust duct 33. Here, small gap 34 is made against the ventilation door 31 to perform cooling operation simultaneously with forced ventilation and in order to eliminate inconvenience in the refrigeration cycle, some amount of air is passed to an evaporator 5 to enable heatexchange. Consequently, ventilation can be realized by providing an exhaust duct 33 and a ventilation door 31.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance defrosting performance when outdoor air temperature is low by constituting an air conditioner in such a manner that, in a defrost mode with outdoor air temperature lower than a predetermined temperature, indoor air is circulated, dehumidified, and heated for a preset period and then sent out from a defroster blow-off port. CONSTITUTION:When a mode is switched to ''defrost'', a microcomputer 22 compares the temperature 14 of outdoor air taken into an air conditioner with a predetermined atmospheric temperature. If the outdoor air temperature 14 is higher than the predetermined temperature, the computer give instruction for intaking of outdoor air. If the temperature 14 is lower, however, for a preset period from the time of mode switching, indoor air is taken in from an indoor air take-in port 2, and, with water cock 30 kept open, a heater core 7 kept operating, and a compressor kept driving, the indoor air 2 dehumidified by cooling by means of an evaporator 5, heated by the heater core 7, and then sent out from a defrost blow-off port 13. With this constitution, highly efficient defrosting can be achieved even when the outdoor air temperature is low.
