    • PURPOSE:To prevent the exhaust of oil on a sliding face and prevent seizing, the generation of abnormal sound, etc. by forming a sealant feed groove which is inclined with respect to the rotating direction of a rotary seat on the outer periphery of said rotary seat, in a shaft seal device consisting of a fixed seat and said rotary seat which is slidingly brought into contact with said fixed seat. CONSTITUTION:A shaft seal device consists of a fixed seat 10 which is fixed to a shaft seal chamber side and a rotary ring 40 which is provided on the outside of a rotary shaft 30 which extends through the fixed seat 10. The rotary ring 40 is pressed by a spring force and brought into contact with the fixed seat 10 and a sealant feed groove 42 is formed on the outer peripheral face of the rotary ring 40. This feed groove 42 is inclinedly formed with respect to a rotating direction 50. Also, the depth of the end part on the sliding face 41 side of the feed groove 42 is formed in such a depth that the bottom part of the feed groove 42 is provided slightly inside the end of the sliding face 41. And, when sliding takes place between the fixed seat 10 and the rotary ring 40 on the sliding face due to the rotation of the rotary shaft 30, a sealant can be forcedly fed to the sliding face from the feed groove 42 utilizing a turning force caused by the rotation of the rotary ring 40.

    • PURPOSE: To enable the washing of the cooler of condensed liquid for the removal of distillate of the polymerization step, effectively and economically, without using an exclusive washing apparatus, by using the condensed distillate obtained by the preceding esterification process in the continuous polymerization apparatus as the above washing liquid.
      CONSTITUTION: In the continuous polymerization apparatus for the production of a polymer by esterification and polymerization steps, the condensation liquid is supplied to a condenser for the removal of the distillate generated in the polymerisation step. The material deposited in the cooler for the cooling of the condensation liquid is washed and removed with the distilled and condensed liquid obtained by the esterification step in place of the hot condensed liquid used in the conventional process.

    • PURPOSE:To provide titled reactor capable of both intermediate and final polymerization processings successively in one unit, consisting of a plural of compartments formed by setting, within horizontal two-shaft reactor, partition board with channel for processed liquor so as to enable operating pressure to be regulated in each compartment independently. CONSTITUTION:A horizontally set cylindrical main body 6 is divided by partition board 9 having, in the lower part, channel 9a for processed liquor to form, in the longer direction, front and rear compartments 5a and 5b, respectively. Revolving shafts 8a and 8b provided parallel each other within the main body 6 in such a manner as to penetrate through the board 9 are fitted with blades 10a, 10b and 11a, 11b, respectively. A processed liquor having been subjected to initial polymerization in a vertical reactor is fed, through nozzle 16 to the front compartment 5a, where both agitating and surface-renewal actions by the blades revolving in the opposite direction each other make the volatile components contained evaporate to effect promotion of the reaction, thus the viscosity of the liquor gradually becoming higher; said liquor being fed, through the channel 9a, to the rear compartment 5b, where the reaction proceeds under similar actions to the above, thus being discharged through outlet nozzle 17.

    • PURPOSE: To make the temperature in a reaction chamber uniform, and to improve the reaction efficiency, by dividing a reaction chamber filled with immobilized enzyme into plural small chambers, and transferring the reaction liquid successively to each small chamber while stirring the content in the chamber.
      CONSTITUTION: The inside of the reaction chamber 1 is divided with partition plates 4 into plural small chambers, and each chamber is furnished with a stirring blade 3 attached to the stirring shaft 2 extending through the partition plates 4. The reaction liquid supplied through the inlet nozzle 6 into the reaction chamber 1 is made to contact with immobilized enzyme filled preparatorily in each small chamber, to effect the enzymatic reaction. The liquid is transferred upward successively to the upper chamber while being stirred with the stirring blade 3, and the product is taken out of the system from the outlet nozzle 5.
