    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be immune to noise, to transmit sound wave to a distance, to prevent attenuation of the waveform, and to accurately measure the pipe length.
      SOLUTION: In a state where a measuring mechanism 1 having a movable mechanism section 11 and a measuring pipe 12 is connected to a pipe 3, a sound reception signal sent from a microphone 103 arranged so that howling occurs in a measuring pipe is received from a speaker 102. A plurality of light source units are provided, where the plurality of light source units illuminate the ranges with the height differences of similar luminance, the imaging means includes a line camera, constituted by arranging a plurality of sensors on one line orthogonally to a vehicle advancing direction, the image combination means includes editing function for linking the processed captured images, in order to composite a two-dimensional image of the vehicle bottom surface, and the display means includes a display control function for enlargement/reduction of the composited two-dimensional image.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for remotely monitoring a bottom face of a vehicle without stopping the traveling vehicle. SOLUTION: A digital camera 3 is equipped with a fish-eye lens and installed on a road surface 2. A vehicle speed sensor 5 gives a vehicle speed signal (a) obtained by detecting a traveling speed of the vehicle 1 to a vehicle/distance conversion circuit 7b. The vehicle speed/distance conversion circuit 7b converts the inputted travel speed into a time required for traveling a predetermined distance (for example, 1 m) and gives the converted time signal b to an imaging control circuit 7a. The imaging control circuit 7a instructs the digital camera 3 to take a picture intermittently at instructed intervals. Since an image signal f outputted from the digital camera 3 has a spherical aberration specific to the fish-eye lens, the spherical aberration is corrected by an image processing circuit 7c, and a single image is obtained when a plurality of images taken for the respective predetermined distances are connected mutually.
