    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device and a servo pattern recording method which allow a servo signal of high quality to be written without being affected by variation of a rotation speed during self-servo write.
      SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device is provided with a disk 102, a head 103 provided with a recording conversion element for writing information on the disk and a reproducing conversion element for reading information, and an actuator for driving the head to a radial direction of the disk. A servo pattern 110 for head positioning is recorded on a recording surface of the disk. In the servo pattern 110, a pattern sector marker 208a for detecting a passage time of the head, a track ID code 209, and a burst pattern 210 for detecting the radial position of the head are recorded following a preamble 207a for PLL acquisition, and a second preamble 207b and a second sector marker 208b are consecutively arranged.
