    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life image display device excelling in display quality by applying a discharge countermeasure to a boundary part between a black matrix film and a glass surface of a front substrate to drastically reduce the number of the occurrence of discharge.
      SOLUTION: This flat image display device includes: a back substrate 1 having at least a plurality of electron sources 10 on a glass substrate; the front substrate 2 arranged oppositely to the back substrate 1, and having at least a fluorescent film; and a frame body 3 interposed between the back substrate 1 and the front substrate 2. A high-resistance film 18 covering an end 161 of the black matrix film 16 constituting the fluorescent film, and extending along the inside wall surface 31 of the frame body 3 is arranged, and a large film width is secured for the high-resistance film 18, whereby the number of the occurrence of discharge is drastically reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of discharge by reducing concentration of an electric field on the end face of a high voltage-applied portion of a phosphor face in a flat type image display device.
      SOLUTION: The flat type image display device is equipped with the rear face substrate 1 having a plurality of signal wirings 8 on a glass substrate, the front face substrate 2 having a phosphor layer 15, a BM film 16, and a metal back 17 on the glass substrate, and a frame body 3 interposed between these rear face substrate 1 and the front face substrate 2. A high resistance film 18 is arranged to cover the peripheral edge 171 of the metal back 17, and furthermore, a spark prevention member 22 is arranged in contact with the terminating end 181 of this high resistance film 18.

    • PURPOSE:To ensure the positioning of a solid-state image pickup element with high accuracy, by putting a reference mark on a pellet to set the center of an array of picture elements within the pellet at a reference hole of a package. CONSTITUTION:A positioning reference mark 7 consisting of an aluminum pattern 5 having nearly a square form and an organic color pattern 6 having a cruciform shape on its upper surface is provided at a part outside a picture element forming region formed on a pellet 1. A light transmissive protecting film 8 is coated on the surface of the mark 7. In this case, the pattern 5 is formed at the same time when a wiring pattern is formed on a wafer by an aluminum vapor deposition process. While the pattern 6 is formed at the same time when an organic color filter is formed on a picture element forming surface. A positioning pin is provided when a solid-state image pickup element is attached to a TV camera. Thus it is possible to perform an automatic position control between the camera optical axis and the center axis of the pellet picture element.
