    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start compensation device for an elevator capable of stabilizing adjustment accuracy of preliminary excitation torque. SOLUTION: The start compensation device for the elevator is provided with: a preliminary excitation torque operation circuit 11 for calculating the preliminary excitation torque T outputted to a drive motor in starting of operation of a car 1 according to loading load L of the car 1; an adjustment element automatic setting device 20 for calculating adjustment elements (torque bias ΔB and torque gain G) of the preliminary excitation torque T immediately before stopping of the car 1 in such a state that the loading load L of the car 1 is a predetermined load; and EEPROM 13 for storing the adjustment elements ΔB, G set by the adjustment element automatic setting device 20. The preliminary excitation torque operation circuit 11 calculates the preliminary excitation torque T using the adjustment elements ΔB, G stored in the EEPROM 13. The adjustment element automatic setting device 20 automatically sets the adjustment elements G, ΔB when variation width of the output torque of the drive motor is within a predetermined width.       SOLUTION: A detector 14 is provided in car doors 7 (7A, 7B) on a door stop side to project from a door stop side end when closing the door by using the door closing motion of the doors 7 as motive power, and a detecting means 16 is provided to detect projection of the detector 14. Since the detector 14 is projected from the door stop side end by the door closing motion of the car doors as motive power, a driving machine for driving the detector 14, which requires electric power, and wiring for power are unnecessary, and as a result, structure can be simplified.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the pole phase of a motor accurately by storing the relation of the rotor pole position of a permanent magnet motor and the output of a pole position detector when initial starting after installation of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The controller of a permanent magnet motor comprises a converter 11 for converting a commercial power supply 10 into a DC power supply, an inverter 13 for converting the DC power supply into an AC power supply, a permanent magnet motor 15 being driven by the AC power supply, i.e., the output from the inverter, and a pole detector 22 for detecting the pole phase of the motor. When initially setting an amount of mismatch between the pole phase of the motor and the detection signal of the pole detector, reference phase position of the motor is estimated as the reference phase electric angle 0° point of the motor. Offset amount of the reference phase electric angle 0° point and the output signal reference phase variation point of the pole detector is stored and employed in the operation of the pole phase.
