    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator having a balancing weight enabling to apply easy and safe antiseismic reinforcement through a passenger car in an elevator shaft.
      SOLUTION: The elevator includes the balancing weight 1 connected to the passenger car via a rope, the balancing weight 1 being elevated up and down relative to the passenger car while being guided by a guide rail 9. The balancing weight 1 has a pair of sectionally-U-shaped vertical columns 2 arranged side by side with their opening portions opposing each other, an upper frame 3 and a lower frame 4 to which the upper and lower ends of both vertical columns 2 are connected, a plurality of weight pieces 6 inserted into the opening portions in a laminated condition and protruded in the longitudinal directions of both vertical columns 2, and a connector 7 mounted on the front faces of both vertical columns 2 at vertically middle positions between the weight pieces 6. At both longitudinal side ends of the connector 7, a pair of L-shaped mounting pieces 7b are provided which are fastened to the front faces of both vertical columns 2 with bolts 8.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and continuously detect a floor-landing error by using a detector and a detected plate which is oppositely installed, to easily mount the detector and the detected plate without complicated adjusting work, and to prevent hooking upon an earthquake in an elevator position detecting device.
      SOLUTION: The detector making the maximum and the minimum of an output as a floor-landing level is installed in a car, and the detected plate which has a shape capable of outputting the maximum and the minimum by the detector is installed in a doorsill of a landing. Consequently, when an abnormality is generated upon floor-landing, stop processing or informing can be carried out. An adjusting work time about the position detecting device can be greatly reduced by a simple structure, and shut-up caused by rope hooking upon an earthquake can be prevented. Additionally, by using a plurality of the detectors, the reliability of a system to the malfunction can be improved.
