    • In an electronic timepiece powered by a lithium battery, a voltage control system is provided whereby a supply voltage of approximately one half of the battery voltage is supplied to certain portions of the timepiece circuit under normal operating conditions, but whereby cessation of operation by the timebase oscillator circuit of the timepiece due to some abnormal state such as excessively low ambient operating temperature is automatically detected and a changeover is made to supply of the full battery voltage to all of the timepiece circuitry. Upon recovery of operation of the timebase oscillator circuit, changeover to the low voltage supply state is performed.

    • In an electronic timepiece with a depth gauge, having a power supply battery, a timepiece circuit, a display unit, a water pressure sensor, a depth gauge circuit for receiving a sensor signal from the water pressure sensor and generating a water depth information signal, a mode control circuit for switching a timepiece mode and a depth gauge mode, and a display switching circuit for selectively displaying the time information signal from the timepiece circuit or the water depth information signal from the depth gauge circuit in response to a control signal from the mode control circuit, there are provided a battery voltage detector for detecting a voltage drop of the battery, and a waste time detector for detecting a nondive state represented by the depth gauge detector. The mode control circuit is forcibly set in the timepiece mode in response to a detection signal from the battery voltage detector or the waste time detector.

    • An electronic timepiece is provided with a correction signal generating system for producing correction pulses to modify current time or other data. The system includes a rotary switch, coupled to a timepiece crown to be rotated thereby and having a plurality of fixed and movable contacts, with the number of movable contacts being less than the number of fixed contacts, and circuit means for producing a train of correction pulses from either of two output terminals in accordance with the direction of rotation of the timepiece crown. Correction pulses from one of these output terminals serves to increment the quantity being corrected, while correction pulses from the other output terminal serve to decrement that quantity. Gearing may be provided between the crown and the switch rotor, to increase the maximum rate of generation of correction pulses.

By doing this, a heavy-load voltage detection circuit 21 starts to output a drive-time judgment signal Pvh which indicates the power supply voltage level judgment results. By means of the Svm signal, the a drive-signal control circuit 23 begins to operate, and at a drive condition selection circuit 25, in accordance with the signal Pvh, successive selection is made of a drive signal to be supplied to the beeper device 31 from the plurality of drive signals B75, B50, and B25 which are generated by the a drive-signal generating circuit 16, the selected drive signal driving the beeper device 31.
