    • A hood airbag device that includes an inflator, and an airbag. The inflator is provided inside a hood at a position corresponding to an opening formed in the hood. The inflator is disposed such that a gas-injection port (is positioned closer to the rear edge of the opening than to the front edge of the opening in the vehicle fore-and-aft direction. The airbag, which is provided inside the hood, passes through the opening and is deployed toward the outside of a vehicle body, due to the pressure of gas supplied from the inflator. Accordingly, the reference position for deployment of the airbag can be made closer to the rear of the vehicle in the vehicle fore-and-aft direction. Thus, the airbag can be deployed to a large extent in the area closer to the rear of the vehicle in the vehicle fore-and-aft direction.

    • In a plan view seen from above a vehicle, a cover (20), which closes an airbag deployment opening (14) formed in a hood outer panel (12), is elongate, and has an arc shape. The center portion of the cover (20) in a vehicle-width direction protrudes toward the front of the vehicle. Hinge portions (20E) of the cover (20) are formed in the vehicle rear-side edge of the cover (20) at positions near both end portions in the vehicle-width direction. Each clip (28), which fixes the cover (20), is disposed in a vehicle front-side edge (20J) at a position offset outward from a center portion (20K) in the vehicle-width direction. Thus, the clips (28) are prevented from interfering with an airbag that has passed through the airbag deployment opening (14) and has been deployed.

    • An airbag device includes a door (16), an inflator (18), and an airbag (20). The door (16), provided in a vehicle-body outer panel (12), is opened to open an opening (12A) in the vehicle-body outer panel (12) when a predetermined situation occurs. The inflator (18) is disposed inside the door (16). The inflator (18) includes a gas-injection port (36) that is closer to the end (16B) of the door (16) in the longitudinal direction of the door (16) than to the center of the door (16) in the longitudinal direction of the door (16). The airbag (20) is disposed at a predetermined position inside the vehicle-body outer panel (12).
