    • A broadcast program recording/reproducing device is provided that is capable of continuously reproducing a program recorded so as to be distributed between a plurality of devices. A reception level detection unit (105) detects the reception level of the received broadcast electric wave. When the reception level is equal to or lower than a predetermined reception level, a recording request transmission unit (106) generates a recording start request packet, and transmits it to a server (20). A management information write unit (107) writes management information into a terminal storage unit (104). A continuous reproduction control unit (108) determines whether the program is recorded so as to be distributed between storing means and an external device based on the management information. When the program is recorded so as to be distributed, the continuous reproduction control unit (108) obtains an appropriate part of the program from the terminal storage unit (104) and a server (20) based on the management information and continuously reproduces it, and when the program is not recorded so as to be distributed, the continuous reproduction control unit (108) obtains the program from the terminal storage unit (104) and reproduces it.

    • A program reception system comprises: a program selecting apparatus storing reception information, displaying program tables, and selecting a program according to signals from the remote controller or transmitting selected program's reception information; a wirelessly communicable remote controller; and a receiving/recording apparatus. The remote controller includes a recording medium, a user-operation receiving unit, a selecting unit for transmitting signals to select programs to the program selecting apparatus, are questing unit for, upon a first operation, transmitting signals for requesting the selected-program's reception information to the program selecting apparatus, a receiving unit for receiving and recording, onto the recording medium, the reception information, and a forwarding unit for, upon a second operation, transmitting the recorded reception information. With the second operation performed on the remote controller pointed toward the receiving/recording apparatus, the selected-program's reception information is transmitted to the receiving/recording apparatus which, in response, receives and records the program.

    • The present invention relates to a data transfer method and a system in a computer network to which are connected a number of computers, more specifically to a data transfer method of stream data continuous in time series and a system for it. The present invention makes a request for change of rate from the client 470 in correspondence to the state of vacancy of said receiving buffer 412, and changes the send rate on the server 400 based on that request for change of rate. This prevents any overflow of stream data from the receiving buffer 412. Furthermore, based on the re-transfer request issued from the client 470 in correspondence to the loss of stream data received by said packet receiving means 410, the storing means on the server 400 sends out data corresponding to the lost data concerned. This makes it possible to compensate for the loss in case of occurrence of any data loss.
