    • The present invention provides a hydraulic excavator provided with a dozer device comprising an arm having a rear end connected to a fulcrum portion provided on a lower frame of a lower traveling body, a dozer blade provided at an extreme end of the arm, and a dozer cylinder for swinging the arm in vertical direction, characterized in that the dozer cylinder and the arm are arranged in a state of forming two sides of a triangle as viewed from the side, the arm swings vertically so that the dozer cylinder does not interfere with a bottom of an upper rotating body rotatably mounted on the lower traveling body, and an approach angle when the dozer blade vertically moved by the arm is placed in the highest position is set to 35 degrees or more, thereby capable of securing travelability equal to an excavator without a dozer device.

    • In an excavator, a blade surface for performing an earth removal operation while a blade is set in contact with the ground satisfies the following conditions: A) upward pushing force components Fu that push dirt upward along the blade surface are generated; B) an upper part of the blade surface has a release surface portion in which a forward-upward release force that rolls the dirt pushed upward by Fu forward is generated; C) when downward pressing force components Fd are generated in response to the generated release force, a total downward pressing force ΣFd> a total upward pushing force ΣFu; and D) if each Fu is given a positive value and if each Fd and a reduced amount of each Fu caused when the dirt hits the release surface portion are given negative values, a value of force at an endmost section of the release surface portion is positive.

    • Provided is a method for mounting a device on a frame in a construction machine. The method includes forming plate holes in a beam member at respective mount-member-provision positions on the beam member; mounting a plate supporter on a back surface of the beam member at each of the mount-member-provision positions so as to border the plate hole at a lower side thereof; installing the beam member on the frame; putting the mount plate into the plate hole from above so as to make the mount plate be supported by the plate supporter and fixing the plate supporter in the plate hole after adjusting the position of the mount plate horizontally and vertically within the plate hole; and mounting the mount members to the mount plates fixed in the plate holes respectively and mounting the device on the beam member via the mount members.
