摘要： A developing unit includes a developer bearer to bear developer on a surface thereof, first and second developer conveyors each having a spiral blade mounted on a rotary shaft thereof parallel to a rotary axis of the developer bearer to convey developer in opposite directions to each other. A developer drain hole is provided at a given height in a side wall of a second developer conveyance channel to face a communication opening across the second developer conveyor. The first developer conveyor rotates in a direction with its spiral blade rising between the rotary shaft of the first developer conveyor and the communication opening. Rotational phases of the first developer conveyor and the second developer conveyor are fixed and synchronized with each other to weaken momentum of developer flow generated by the first developer conveyor toward the developer drain hole via the second developer conveyor.

摘要： A 1.55 μm band dispersion shifted optical fiber is provided which has a low loss and low dispersion slope. A core region “a” is heavily doped with GeO2 . A core region “b” is composed of pure SiO2 glass. A cladding section is arranged around the core region. The cladding section has a lot of holes extending in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber. The holes of the cladding section are not located at random, but have a honeycomb structure composed of regular hexagons which have a side length of Λ, and serve as a primitive lattice. The center of the core section has a region having a refractive index higher than that of the periphery of the core section. The core section has the refractive index distribution in which the group velocity dispersion at the operation wavelength of the region becomes the normal dispersion.

摘要： A catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas comprises a carrier and a coated layer applied onto the surface of the carrier which comprises an aluminum oxide, a cerium oxide, a zirconium oxide, a nickel oxide, an alkaline earth metal oxide and a noble metal catalytic component. The catalyst can be prepared according to a method which comprises the steps of coating the surface of a carrier with a slurry which comprises active alumina, a cerium compound, a zirconium compound and a nickel compound, drying the coated carrier and then calcining it to complete the carrier, then impregnating the carrier with a solution comprising a catalyst component of a noble metal, drying, then immersing it in a solution of an alkaline earth metal compound, drying the immersed carrier and then calcining the carrier. The catalyst for exhaust gas-cleanup is highly sensitive to HC and CO around the theoretical mixing ratio and within the rich-region and is excellent in durability.

摘要： This invention relates to a writing instrument wherein a temporary ink storage member made of a synthetic resin injection molded article is sandwiched between a pen tip and an ink tank. In the present invention, a flange portion for fitting to a predetermined apparatus, which is positioned around an outer peripheral portion of the temporary ink storage member, is formed integrally with a shaft made of a synthetic resin injection molded article. In embodiments of the invention, the temporary ink storage member is made flexible, the shaft is made of a material which is softer than that of the tip holder, and the tip holder is used as a writing thickness display member. The temporary ink storage member can be used as an ink color display member and a cap is used as an application display member. In other embodiment, the cap can be fitted selectively in accordance with types of writing instruments.

摘要： A device for regenerating with ink an ink ribbon which is set in an ink ribbon cassette and has consumed ink contained therein is disclosed. The device includes a housing having an upper surface for mounting the cassette thereon; a guide pin disposed on the upper surface for slidably guiding the ribbon drawn out of the cassette; a guide roller inserted into and movable along an elongated slot formed in the upper surface for guiding the ribbon under tension in cooperation with the guide pin; a rotatable ink pad disposed on the upper surface to contact with the ribbon being guided by the guide pin and the guide roller for transfer ink on the ribbon; and driving means for moving the ribbon in the cassette. In operation, the cassette is removably held on the upper surface, and the guide roller is releasably locked at its play position with a solenoid to thereby make the ribbon contacted with the ink pad.
