    • According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a main pole, a write shield pole on a trailing side of the main pole, a recording coil, and a temperature control element unit. The temperature control element unit includes a first electrode on a leading side of the main pole and on both sides of a track of the main pole, a second electrode on the leading side of the main pole and on a track center of the main pole, an N-type semiconductor and a P-type semiconductor connected to the first and second electrodes, and a wiring portion which applies a current via the second electrode, N-type semiconductor, first electrode, P-type semiconductor, and second electrode. The first and second electrodes form a heat absorbing portion and a heat radiating portion.

    • An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier; a toner image forming section; a transfer section which transfers the toner image onto a transfer sheet; a separation section which separates the transfer sheet from the image carrier; and a process cartridge which holds the image carrier, the toner image forming section, the transfer section, and the separation section as a unit detachable from a main unit of the image forming apparatus. The separation section includes a resin guide member which is a base for the separation section, a separation pawl for separating a transfer sheet from the image carrier, a metal reference plate fixed to the resin guide member and a resin engaging member fixed to the reference plate. The resin engaging member engages with a process cartridge member which supports the separation section allowing the separation section to move in an axial direction of the image carrier.

    • An image forming apparatus including: an image carrier, rotating in a first direction and a second direction, and the second direction is opposite to the first direction; a transfer device for transferring the toner image; a cleaning device comprising a cleaning blade for cleaning the image carrier; and a cleaning blade exchanging section for exchanging the cleaning blade, wherein the apparatus works in such ways that, after the cleaning blade exchanging section has retracted the cleaning blade to a retracted position, the cleaning blade exchanging section rotates the image carrier in the second direction, whereby any foreign material, adhered onto the image carrier while the cleaning blade is exchanged, is moved upstream of the cleaning position of the cleaning blade, then the cleaning blade is pressed against the image carrier, and the image carrier is subsequently rotated in the first direction, so that the image carrier is cleaned.
