摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new transcranial ultrasonic therapy apparatus of for heads which can dissolve thrombus in a cerebral artery by irradiating it with ultrasonic waves from outside of the head. SOLUTION: The transcranial ultrasonic therapy apparatus 10 consists of an ultrasonic probe 11 for irradiating the head of a therapy objective person A with the ultrasonic waves; a high-frequency oscillator 12 for generating high-frequency current of 250 kHz to 850 kHz; a controller 13 for controlling the high-frequency oscillator 12, or the like; and a cooler 15 for cooling an ultrasonic irradiation surface of the ultrasonic probe 11. The ultrasonic probe 11 is brought into close contact with one of the outer sides of the head of the person A, and the high-frequency current outputted from the high-frequency oscillator 12 under control by the controller 13 is supplied to the ultrasonic probe 11. The controller 13 controls output of the high-frequency current to control ultrasonic output and intermittently supplies the high-frequency current to intermittently irradiate the ultrasonic wave to the head of the person A for dissolving the thrombus. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic device comprises: an ultrasonic wave transmitter-receiver 1 composed of a plurality of electric / ultrasonic wave conversion elements for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic wave pulses to/from a subject; a transmission / reception wave changeover switch 5 for switching the transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves for the elements; a transmission wave beam former 4 connected to the transmission / reception wave changeover switch for controlling the transmission focal position of the ultrasonic waves inside the subject; a reception wave beam former 11 for controlling a reception focal position inside the subject; a detector 12 whose input is the output of the reception wave beam former, flow rate calculation parts 13, 14, and 15 for measuring a blood flow inside the subject from the output of the detector; a display part 16 for displaying the blood flow; a means 3 for transmitting and receiving the ultrasonic wave pulses for the plurality of elements respectively and measuring the thickness of the bones of skull in front of the elements; a means 2 for selecting a transmission frequency by which ultrasonic wave intensity passing through the bones of skull becomes maximum for the respective elements on the basis of the thickness of the bones of skull; and a means 1 for irradiating the inside of the bones of skull with the ultrasonic wave pulses of the selected transmission frequency from the ultrasonic wave transmitter-receiver.
