摘要： A PCM signal processing apparatus for recording or reproducing a PCM signal. The PCM signal reproducing apparatus of the invention is constituted by: a data addition circuit for receiving a first signal composed of n bits per word (n being an integer) and a second signal composed of n' bits per word (n' being an integer) as mode inputs different from each other, and for adding fixed data of (n-n') bits to every word of the second signal to thereby generate a third signal; a first switch device for receiving the first and third signals and for selectively outputting one of the first and third signals; a symbol generation circuit for converting every word of the output of the first switch device into symbol data of m.times.l bits (n>l); a signal processing circuit for performing at least interleave processing, error correction code generating processing, and addition of a synchronizing signal, on the output of the symbol generation circuit, to thereby generate a first data frame; a data deletion circuit for deleting the fixed data from the first data frame of the signal processing circuit to thereby generate a second data frame; and a second switch devices for receiving the first data frame from the signal processing circuit and the second data frame from the data deletion circuit.

摘要： An authentication method for use in sending/receiving data between a coded data output apparatus for outputting coded data having a water mark, and a recording apparatus for recording data onto a recording medium, the method including: deciding a type of the recording medium used by the recording apparatus; based on a result of the deciding, selecting, from a plurality of authentication methods, an authentication method corresponding to the type of the recording medium, and conducting authentication between the coded data output apparatus and the recording apparatus, using the authentication method; sending/receiving data between the coded data output apparatus and the recording apparatus after conducting the authentication; and in a case where the coded data has the water mark, detecting the water mark by the coded data output apparatus, wherein the data exchanged between the coded data output apparatus and the recording apparatus is scrambled by a scrambling method corresponding to the type the recording medium.

摘要： A transmitting method of digital data whereby information data can be reproduced at a high precision. In order to retain digital data in sectors comprising a plurality of sync frames and sequentially transmit, the sync frame is comprised of the sync signal and the run length limited code which satisfies the limitations of the minimum run length and the maximum run length, and the sync signal includes the sync pattern constituted by a bit pattern of a run length that is longer than the maximum run length by only 3T and addition bit patterns which are arranged before and after the bit pattern and each of which has a urn length that is longer than the minimum run length. The sync signal includes a specific code which indicates a position in the sector and which enables the DC control to be performed.

Instead of embedding watermarking information in respective pixels or by using a relation between pixels, the watermarking information is embedded as a position pattern of changed pixels in the contents. A reproducing apparatus comprises an electronic watermark information detecting circuit, a CGMS signal detecting circuit, a control circuit to which detected electronic watermark information and CGMS signal are supplied, and a video signal processing circuit controlled by an output of the control circuit. When the electronic watermark information and the CGMS signal have a rational relation, the video signal processing circuit is controlled to output the video signal.
