摘要： A communication system including: a terminal (121); and a device (111), a device (112), and a device (113) existing within a LAN (110) connected to the terminal (121) through the Internet. The terminal (121) includes: a representative device preference storing unit (14) that stores information about processing performed by plural devices; a terminal control unit (15) that determines a representative device serving as a representative from among a plural devices based on information stored in the representative device preference storing unit (14); and a terminal side communication unit (10) that transmits a request for information about the devices within the LAN (110) to the representative device and receives a response to the request from the representative device. 摘要： Methods to set a viewing and/or listening term are classified into two types, which are a fixed-time-length type to limit time length and a fixed-expiration-time type to limit expiration time. And the timings of license acquisition are classified into two types which are an immediate-acquisition type and a point-of-use type. The type of the timing of license acquisition is written to a meta data which is to be sent to a terminal before initiating download. The terminal determines the timing of license acquisition according to the meta data. When contents are point-of-use type, the terminal doesn't acquire a key and an expiration time information until a time of initiating playback. On the other hand, when contents are immediate-acquisition type, the terminal acquires the key and the expiration time information at any point of time. Since the key is acquired at the early timing such as download completion timing, a reaction velocity in response to a playback instruction can be heighten.

摘要： In a service of downloading contents whose contract is to be automatically renewed, an establishing of a synchronization between information about a period stored on the side of a terminal and information about a period to be renewed on the side of a server, causes a problem of load increase and others because a large amount of contents have to be synchronized at frequent intervals.In consideration thereof, a method for contents viewing permission takes two types of automatic renewal and non-automatic renewal, and the type is described in a meta data transmitted to the terminal at the time of DL registration. In accordance with the meta data, when the type is of the automatic renewal, even if the license is already expired, the terminal makes a display of “automatic renewal” on a listing-display screen of an information display section with no conditions, at a point in time before a command comes from a user for playback and before the license is renewed in response thereto. And when the type is of the non-automatic renewal, an expiration date is checked, and the date or whether the date is expired or not is displayed on the listing-display screen.
