    • A lighting fixture apparatus for a vehicle is disclosed wherein both left and right side lighting fixtures or lamps may not be extinguished simultaneously and maintain a necessary function even if a light source extinguishes due to malfunction of the light source or its control circuit. Two optical transmission devices are provided each of which has a light source, two optical cables connected to both sides of the light source, and flat and hot zone luminous intensity distribution lenses connected to both ends of the two optical cables. The flat and hot zone luminous intensity distribution lenses are distributed to both the head lamps. An illuminating range obtained by combining illuminating ranges wherein both the lenses mounted on one of the optical transmission devices illuminate is similar to an illuminating range obtained by combining illuminating ranges wherein both the lenses mounted on the other optical transmission device illuminate. Thus, even if one of the light sources extinguishes the illuminating range and simultaneous lighting of both the lighting fixtures may be maintained.

    • An illuminating device for a vehicle head lamp which defines a clear cut line of light distribution pattern. The light from a light source is transmitted through an optical fibre and is incident to a light conducting path lens from the optical fibre in a predetermined pattern defined by a shade. The light conducting path lens condenses and irradiates at an outgoing plane the light from a light incident plane. Thus, light distribution pattern is defined by the shape of the shade and the optical characteristics of the light conducting path lens. An end section of the shade defines an upper cut line, particularly at an opposite lane side, of the light distribution pattern. The shade is provided coincidentally with an optical axis of the outgoing plane of the light conducting path lens. Thus, the upper cut line of the light distribution pattern at the side of the opposite lane side is defined clearly and, hence, a wide illuminating range extending to the opposite lane can be provided without causing glare to drivers of vehicles on the opposite lane.

    • A plasma ignition system includes an ignition plug attached to an engine and having a center electrode, a ground electrode, and a discharge space, a discharge power source circuit, a plasma generation power source circuit, a resistance element between the discharge power source circuit and the center electrode, a rectifying device between the plasma generation power source circuit and the center electrode, and an element receiving portion in a periphery of the center electrode. The plug puts gas in the discharge space into a plasma state to ignite a fuel/air mixture in the engine, as a result of application of high voltage to the plug by the discharge power source circuit and supply of high current to the plug by the plasma generation power source circuit. The resistance element and the rectifying device are placed in the receiving portion.
