    • To provide a vial with low alkali elution and a method for producing the same by removing a deteriorated region caused by processing on an internal surface of a vial. A vial with reduced alkali elution and a method for producing the same by forming vials from borosilicate glass tubes comprises a first step of forming a borosilicate glass tube into a cup-shaped body by formation of a bottom of a vial, and a second step of forming the cup-shaped body into the vial by formation of a mouth of the cup-shaped body. Further provided is a vial with reduced alkali elution and a method for producing the same by forming vials from borosilicate glass tubes, which comprises a first step of forming a borosilicate glass tube into a cup-shaped body to form a bottom of a vial; a second step of fire-blasting an internal surface of said cup-shaped body by a certain length from the bottom toward an opening of said cup-shaped body with flames to remove a deteriorated region caused by processing; and a third step of forming a mouth of said cup-shaped body to complete a vial with reduced alkali elution.

    • A method for applying silicone oil to a back end of an injection needle having a hub with a center hole and a cannula inserting in the center hole, in which the cannula has a front end with a sharp bevel and a back end with another sharp bevel and the back end terminates within the hub. The method comprises allowing silicone-containing-liquid to continue to overflow at a constant rate of flow from a top end of a rising pipe having an inner diameter larger than an outer diameter of the cannula and an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the hub, and concurrently dipping the back end into silicone-containing-liquid at the top end of the rising pipe. Silicone with no foreign matter can be applied to the injection needle while preventing adhesion of silicone containing liquid to the hub. The apparatus used for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

    • A cover plate assembly for wall-mounted electrical wiring devices includes a plate frame disposed on a wall surface as surrounding a wall opening in the wall surface. The wall opening is provided to receive therein one or more electrical wiring devices such as switches. The plate frame has a window through which a portion of the wiring device extends outwardly. A face plate is placed over the plate frame to entirely conceal the same. The face plate is made from a plastic material and has a center opening through which a portion of the electrical wiring device is exposed to be accessible from outside of said face plate. Also included in the assembly is an under plate which is to be fixed with respect to the wall surface for holding said plate frame therebetween. The under plate is made from a flat metal stamping and secured to the rear of the face plate for reinforcement of the same.
