    • A clamp circuit for use in a DC/DC voltage converter having a first converter output including a first node and a second node, and a second converter output including a third node a fourth node.     • A telephone and a headset have coupled therebetween an amplifier coupling which incorporates circuits with a plurality of transfer characteristics which may be activated by control buttons on the amplifier coupling, allowing a user to adapt the signals received in the speaker to the surrounding sound conditions, thereby improving the sound perception under varying surrounding noise conditions. The transfer characteristics may be of the so-called TT4 standard or may be individually adapted with attenuation and/or gain in selected frequency bands. The amplifier coupling and the stationary telephone have coupled therebetween an automatic gain control (AGC) to adapt signal levels which are fed to the headset from the stationary telephone. The transfer characteristics may be implemented both as fixed circuits selectable via push-buttons, or they may be provided by a PC via a USB port.
