    • The apparatus for handling a finished syringe bodies comprises a planar supporting plate and a mounting plate provided with foot members attached with the supporting plate substantially parallel thereto by a plurality of spacing pieces. Both supporting plate and mounting plate have a plurality of receiving openings for the injection molding devices positioned pairwise coaxial to each other and a retaining plate is provided with holes coaxial to the receiving openings and connected detachably to the supporting plate on the side of the supporting plate facing away from the mounting plate. The boundaries of the holes in the retaining plate form an axial contacting surface for the injection molding devices placed in the receiving openings.

    • A syringe assembly has a syringe body adapted to be filled with an injectable liquid and having an annular neck defining an axis forming an axially outwardly open outlet and a needle insert fitting in and blocking the outlet and formed with an axially throughgoing passage so that a needle can be inserted axially through the passage of the insert into the body. A retaining collar engaged around the neck holds the insert in the outlet and a plug engaged in the passage fits over the retaining collar. A plurality of angularly spaced spacer blocks formed on one of the edges and alternating with the webs project at least partially across the gap toward the other edge.

    • A conveyor system has a carousel rotatable about an axis in steps and having an outer periphery along which loading, unloading, and treatment stations are spaced and a drive for rotating the carousel about the axis in steps. A plurality of fixed segments spaced along the periphery each have a straight outer edge and a plurality of movable segments spaced along the periphery are interleaved with the fixed segments and each have a straight outer edge and a pair of ends. Respective pivots secured between one of the ends of each of the movable segments and the carousel allow movement of each of the movable segments between an inner position with its outer edge nonparallel to the outer edges of adjacent fixed segments and an outer position with its outer edge parallel to the outer edge of a one of the adjacent fixed segments. A controller at the loading and unloading stations pivots the movable segments into the outer positions when same are stopped in the loading and unloading stations and otherwise normally maintains the movable segments in the inner positions. A row of a plurality of holders is provided for the objects on each of the outer edges so that when a fixed segment block and a movable segment block are in the loading or unloading station all of the respective holders are aligned and can be loaded or unloaded simultaneously.

    • A hypodermic syringe has a tubular body extending along and centered on an axis and having at an axial front end a small-diameter collar formed with a front radially outwardly open seat and, axially spaced backward therefrom, a rear radially outwardly open seat. An end piece provided with a deformable plug fittable sealingly in the collar is adapted to receive a needle. Mounting fingers extending axially back from the end piece have rear ends that engage in a front position of the end piece in the front seat and in a rear position of the end piece in the rear seat. The fingers are of such an axial length that the plug is fitted snugly into the collar in the rear position but is not snugly fitted in the collar in the front position. When the end piece is in the front position a medicament in the body can be lyophilized and when in the rear position the syringe is plugged.
