    • Pipe-driving apparatus used to create a pipe line of small diameter uses a pressing station in an access trench to drive in pipe sections one by one. A boring head and conveyor worm operates at the front of the pipe line in a working pipe section on which a cutting shoe is swivably mounted. The worm is a spiral flight on a drive shaft which runs within an open fronted container on which a drive unit for the boring head and the worm is mounted. Hydraulic bracing units mounted to the container can be swung out and engaged with stops in the working pipe section to brace the container during the filling operation. Projections on the container engage with the shoe and the bracing units can be used to steer the shoe. When the container is filled the bracing units re stowed and the container is withdrawn back down the pipe line to the access trench for discharging the material.

    • A constant velocity joint has an outer part, an inner part, and a full cage that is accommodated in a self-holding manner between these parts. The cage is formed with windows for holding balls inside races on the outer part and on the inner part. The cage is guided around a common center of curvature via spherical outer surfaces on the outer part and via spherical inner surfaces on the inner part. During assembly, the outer part and the cage can be slid inside one another in the direction of their component axes. This permits a particularly compact design of constant velocity joints with Stuber offset. Special openings on the outer part enable the balls to be inserted when the inner part is already connected to a shaft.

    • A constant-velocity fixed joint includes an outer joint part with ball raceways and an inner joint part with ball raceways which are separated by webs. A cage, which is disposed between the outer joint part and the inner joint part, has windows for holding balls. The inner joint part can be inserted into the cage only when at least one of its webs engages in a window in the cage. As a result of certain ratios of the raceway angle to the web angle, a high resistance to fracturing at large deflection angles is achieved and a weakening at the functional faces of the inner joint part is avoided. The large angle of wrap around the balls at the ends of the raceways is advantageous for the load bearing capacity of the raceways. Due to its simple form, the cage can be manufactured with a small thickness.

    • In circular saws, especially of the so-called cold type, for steel and nonferrous metals, there is a certain play in the gear drive or power transmission between the prime mover such as an electric motor and the saw blade proper. Especially during the start and during the completion of a sawing operation such play causes a temporary stopping of the blade. To avoid such play a brake mechanism with blade engaging brake shoes is provided which is energized and de-energized in response to the current consumption of the electric saw drive motor or in response to position responsive switch means, whereby the brake is effective during the start and during the stopping of the saw blade.
