    • A four-axial driving actuator for an optical pickup with improved bobbin dynamic characteristics, in which the winding starting ports for a focus coil, tracking coil, and tilt coil are separate from one another, and the winding end ports thereof are combined as a common ground. The four-axial driving actuator includes: a base; a holder fixed on the base; a bobbin to which an objective lens is fixed; spring wires connected between the bobbin and the holder; and a magnetic driving unit driving the bobbin in the focus, track, or tilt direction with a focus coil, a tracking coil, and a tilt coil, wherein the magnetic driving unit comprises a circuit unit including winding starting ports for the focus coil, tracking coil, and tilt coil, and a common ground port at which winding end ports for the focus coil, tracking coil, and tilt coil are grounded, and the circuit unit applies a voltage to the tracking coil, tracking coil, and tilt coil. In the four-axial driving actuator for an optical pickup, the bobbin and the holder are connected with only four wires serving as electric wires, so that moving characteristics of the bobbin are improved and the assembly time is reduced.

    • A disk clamping apparatus for a disk player includes a turntable for receiving a disk, a disk clamper which clamps the disk placed on the turntable, and first and second magnetic bodies which are mounted in the corresponding turntable and the disk clamper and provide a clamping force to the disk by acting a reciprocal magnetic force on the turntable and the disk clamper. The first and second magnetic bodies are opposite to each other and partially overlap each other. In the disk clamping apparatus having the above structure, the variation in a clamping force caused by the variation in thickness of disks, received by the disk clamping apparatus, is very small. Accordingly, clamping and de-clamping of the disks having different thickness can be smoothly performed.

    • An optical pickup assembly is provided having a base; an objective lens including a body portion and a lens portion built into the body portion; a suspension wherein one end is fixed to the body portion and the other end is fixed to a holder supporting the objective lens such that the objective lens is movable; coil members formed at the sides of the body portion of the objective lens; permanent magnets mounted on the base, opposite to the coil members; and yokes for guiding magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnets. In the optical pickup assembly, the objective lens is constructed such that the body portion serving as a bobbin is combined with the lens portion, thereby reducing the weight of the moving part. As a result, the moving part can sensitively accelerate with application of a voltage. In addition, the moment of inertia of the moving part decreases due to the reduced weight thereof, and the secondary resonance frequency of the moving part is increased due to the structure of the objective lens body itself serving as a bobbin. Thus, the optical pickup assembly can efficiently accelerate at a voltage level so that it can be effectively used for high-speed and high-density optical recording/reproduction systems.

    • An actuator used with an optical pickup includes: a base on which a holder is fixed; a lens holder in which a plurality of installation holes are formed such that a plurality of objective lenses to record and/or reproduce optical discs having different recording densities are installed at different heights; a support member, which movably supports the lens holder, having one end coupled to the lens holder and the other end coupled to the holder; and a magnetic circuit which drives the lens holder in focusing and tracking directions. The plurality of installation holes include a first installation hole in which a first objective lens for at least one type of low density optical disc is installed, and a second installation hole in which a second objective lens for a higher density optical disc than the low density optical disc is installed. When a working distance of the first objective lens for the low density optical disc installed in the first installation hole is represented as WD1, and a working distance of the second objective lens for the high density optical disc installed in the second installation hole is represented as WD2, the first and second installation holes are provided so that the first and second objective lenses are installed to satisfy the Equation: WD1≧WD2, a separation distance between the optical disc and the second objective lens=WD2+αwhere, α=|WD1−WD2|×(0.1˜1.0). The second installation hole is located in a more outer circumference of the optical disc than the first installation hole.
