    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent break of an air layer of an air bearing and thereby to prevent seizing.
      SOLUTION: The air bearing is formed of a hollow box body 4 having an upper wall 2 with half cylinder part 1, and two rows of six through holes 5 are formed in the half cylinder part 1 in a radial direction. A pressed air supply pipe 8 is connected with the hollow box body 4 to communicate with a pressed air chamber 3, the pressed air is blown out of all of the through holes, and thereby the air layer A is formed between the half cylinder part 1 and a shaft S received by the half cylinder part 1. A tip of the through hole 5 is enlarged to be tapered to form a recess 10 which is opened to an outer face of the half cylinder part 1, and a blowout pipe 9 is closely fitted into the through hole 5 to reach the bottom of the recess 10. A diameter D of the recess 10 is 15 times the inner diameter d of the blowout pipe 9. The pressed air supply pipe 8 is provided with an air dryer 11 and a mist separator 12.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for adjusting tension, enabling the adjustment of the tension of a wire delivered from a supplying bobbin in a wire twisting machine up to a delicate point for preventing the wire from cutting from the outside of the machine.
      SOLUTION: This tension adjusting device for the tension of the delivered wire in the wire twisting machine consists of an impeller 2 rotating together with a bobbin 1 as one unit by coinciding its shaft center with that of the bobbin 1 at the lower end of the wire-supplying bobbin, a nozzle 3 for ejecting or sucking air by facing to the impeller, and an air flow passage 4 installed so as to reach the outside of the machine from the nozzle 3. The control of the switching of the ejection and sucking of air from the nozzle 3 and of the ejection power and the sucking power can be done from the outside of the machine. The wire-supplying bobbin is mounted on a cradle 6 installed in a tubular body 5, and the air flow passage consists of a fixed flow passage 4a mounted at the cradle 6 side, a movable flow passage 4b mounted on the tubular body 5 side, and an outside air flow passage 4c fixed at the outside of the machine, each of which is connected by each of rotary joints 7, and the front part 5a of the tubular body 5 is received by an air bearing 8.
