摘要： Systems and methods for UE-specific notifications with beamforming are provided. When a UE is in a power saving state, and the network has downlink data to send to the UE, a paging message may be transmitted in the downlink. Paging may have high overhead when beamforming is implemented. In some embodiments, a UE-specific notification is instead transmitted in a downlink beam pointed in the direction of the UE. The UE-specific notification may be a paging message specific to the UE that indicates that there is downlink data for transmission to that UE. However, more generally the UE-specific notification may be any type of downlink notification for a UE. The notification may include downlink beam information.

摘要： Aspects of the present application provide methods and devices for use in User Equipment (UE) cooperation. A packet transmitted between a base station and a UE or between UEs includes a packet destination identifier that identifies a destination of the packet. A receiving the packet from a base station or another UE can determine whether the UE is the destination of the packet. When the UE is the destination of the packet, the UE decodes the packet. When the UE is not the destination of the packet, the UE forwards the packet to another UE. The packet may include a packet source identifier that can be used by the destination to determine where the packet originated. In some instances, the cooperative UEs do not need to decode the entire packet to be able to determine the destination of the packet and therefore can forward the packet along with less processing.

摘要： Embodiments are provided for a scheme of link adaptation (LA) in uplink grant-less random access (RA) communications. The scheme includes changing a modulation and coding (MCS) of a user, instead of using a fixed MCS over time, as the user link, channel, or non-link conditions vary during the RA communications. In an embodiment, a transmission point (TP) receives from a UE a packet encoded using a MCS, and detects a condition associated with uplink measurements or other non-link based condition of the UE. The TP then initiates an upgrade or a downgrade of the MCS in accordance with the condition, and signals the UE indicating a second MCS as a result. The UE thus sends a second packet encoded using the second MCS. In another embodiment, the UE initiates the MCS change in accordance to detecting a link or non-link based condition, such as change of mobility.
