The first identifier indicates a last data packet of the first data, and the first data is data in a first periodicity of a periodic service. According to the solution of this application, the handover of the terminal device may be performed in a time period in which the source access network device completes sending of the first data in the first periodicity, that is, the first time period. This avoids interruption of sending the first data by the source access network device due to the handover, and improves transmission reliability of the periodic service.

摘要： This application provides a method for transmitting a data packet of a media stream and a communication apparatus. The method includes: An access network element receives M data packets of a media stream from a user plane network element; when a network resource of the access network element cannot satisfy a transmission requirement of a terminal device, the access network element drops N data packets with lower priorities in the M data packets, where N≤M; and the access network element sends, to the terminal device, a data packet that is not dropped and sequence numbers that represent sending sequences of the data packets and that are carried in the N data packets, and receives, from the terminal device, an ACK feedback for the sequence numbers carried in the N data packets. In this solution, only a data packet with a higher priority in the media stream is transmitted, and the data packet with a lower priority is dropped, so that video playback experience on a user side can be substantially ensured. In addition, the terminal device performs ACK feedback. This avoids retransmission of the N data packets on a server side, and further ensures transmission of the data packet with the higher priority.
