摘要： A system includes a wireless leaf node (110a-110e) configured to modify operation of an industrial process. The system also includes a plurality of wireless access points (108a-108e, 112, 112a-112b) configured to transmit data to the wireless leaf node in specified time slots (306, 306a-306o) and to receive an acknowledgement from the wireless leaf node in response to successful receipt of the data by the wireless leaf node. Various communication schemes are disclosed for supporting communications between the wireless leaf node and the access points. Each access point could also include a local slot manager (502) configured to assign the specified time slots for that access point to communicate with the wireless leaf node. The wireless leaf node could represent a wireless actuator.

摘要： A system of wireless infrastructure nodes are communicatively coupled to a number of internally powered leaf nodes. The leaf nodes may have sensors and/or actuators. A wireless leaf node transmits data to an infrastructure node at a time according to a duty cycle. When a collision occurs, the data is retransmitted until an acknowledgement is received from an infrastructure node. A change in a transmission protocol parameter, such as duty cycle / phase of sampling is initiated with such retransmissions. A decision to chan ge the parameter is taken either by the wireless leaf node itself, or by an infrastructure node. Some of the leaf nodes can be transmit-only devices whi ch repeat each data packet a number of times.

摘要： A wireless system having an infrastructure node and several leaf nodes in a non-redundant version or having at least two infrastructure nodes and several leaf nodes in a redundant version. Leaf nodes may individually seek out timing information in order to be in synch with an infrastructure node. Upon receipt of synch information from an infrastructure node, the respective leaf node may send data to the infrastructure node. In the case of a redundant system, primary and secondary nodes may be selected from a list of infrastructure nodes. Communications between an infrastructure node and a leaf node may occur on one of a number of channels, and the channel may be changed for communications between the nodes. In the case of a redundant system, a single transmission from the leaf node is received simultaneously by the redundant infrastructure nodes.
