摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electric double layer capacitor for efficiently manufacturing the electric double layer capacitor whose internal resistance has been reduced fully. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an electric double layer capacitor comprises an ultrasonic junction process for laminating a conductive spacer 12 on an anvil 22 in which irregularities are formed on the surface, and an electrode sheet 20 in which a layer 16 containing an active material is formed on both the surfaces of current collection foil 14 made of metal containing aluminum so that a lead section 18 remains while the conductive spacer 12 is in contact with the lead section 18, and pressing the electrode sheet 20 by an ultrasonic horn 24 in which irregularities are formed on the surface and applying ultrasonic waves for joining, thus obtaining an electrode sheet having a spacer; a lamination process for alternately arranging the electrode sheet having a spacer and a separator and arranging adjacent electrode sheets having a spacer in a stagger for obtaining a laminate; and a pressing process for pressing the lamination section between the conductive spacer 12 and the lead section 18. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical element in which appropriate pressure can be imparted to a multilayer electrode sheet in the layer direction. SOLUTION: An electric double layer capacitor 10 comprises a plurality of electrode sheets 2 in which an electrode layer 2b is provided on a current collection foil 2a, and a separator 4 arranged between the electrode sheets 2 wherein the electrode layer 2b and the separator 4 are impregnated with electrolyte. The electric double layer capacitor 10 is constituted by sandwiching the multilayer electrode sheet 2 in the layer direction between two substantially L-shaped lead plates 3 each having a wall 31 for collecting positive or negative current from a part of the plurality of electrode sheets 2 and a wall 32 for holding the end electrode sheet 2 out of the multilayer electrode sheet 2.
