    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a pedestrian when contacting an instrument panel by reliably identifying the body type of the pedestrian. SOLUTION: This pedestrian airbag device comprises a control means for deploying an airbag 19 along the upper face of the instrument panel 14 in accordance with an output signal from a contact detecting means for detecting that a pedestrian contacts a front bumper, an output signal from an image pickup means for picking up the image of the pedestrian, and an output signal from a vehicle speed detecting means for detecting a vehicle speed. Thus, it accurately determines that the pedestrian may contact the instrument panel 14, from the body type of the pedestrian and the vehicle speed, and reliably deploys the airbag 19 when the pedestrian may contact it.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely protect a foot from impact from a car body in a collision by providing a device springing up a heel part of the foot of an occupant which is put on the floor surface of a compartment in a collision. SOLUTION: A floor panel 1 constitutes a floor surface 1a of a compartment of an automobile and is provided with a tow board 2 rising in an oblique front direction from the tip and a dash board 3 extending upward from the upper end of the tow board 2. The tow board 2 and the dash board 3 constitute a front plate part of the compartment and a foot (a) of an occupant is put on a tow board surface 2a on the side of the compartment of the tow board 2. A heel part (b) of the foot (a) is put on a spring receiving member 5 at the front end of the floor panel 1. A dent 1b is formed at the front end of the floor panel 1 and a spring member 4 is stored. The cover plate shaped spring receiving member 5 covering the dent 1b is provided, the spring receiving member 5 is engaged at an engagement pawl 5a on the rear surfaces of the floor panel 1 and the tow board 2 and the spring member 4 is held to a compressed state. Thus, the foot is surely protected from impact from a car body in a collision.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the angle of a front seat occupant's ankle from decreasing without using a thick pad material or reinforcing material and reduce bending load applied to the ankle effectively even if the portion of a dashboard which his or her toe touches is deformed so as to be pushed out backward due to collision of a vehicle or the like. SOLUTION: A supporting board 1 is formed separately from a dashboard D, out of an inclined board part 3 which is inclined downward so as to face the sole of an occupant's foot and a horizontal board part 4 connected to the lower end of the inclined board part 3 so as to be capable of relative rotation, and is disposed behind the board D. As a result, the inclined board part 3 and the horizontal board part 4 are relatively rotated in such a direction as they approach the identical plane as collision load acts upon a vehicle body F from the front side.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a shock absorption property at the collision without hurting the stability of a footrest at the usual time by forming a rib on the back surface of the foot placing surface of a box shape foot rest main body molded by a resin having the foot placing surface for placing an occupant's foot and also providing a shock absorption material for absorbing the shock on the back surface. SOLUTION: The partition wall of the front lower part of a car room is constituted by extendingly arranging a dash board 3 upward from the upper end of a toe board 2 erected in the obliquely front side from the front end of a floor panel 1. A footrest for placing an occupant's foot (a) is arranged with a front risen slant attitude on the toe board surface 2a which is the car room side surface of the toe board 2. The footrest is constituted by a footrest main body 4 having a foot placing surface 40 and the surrounding side plate 41 and a rib 42 is formed so as to reach the opened surface of this footrest main body 4. Further, a shock absorption material 43 formed by the elastic material of a rubber for absorbing the shock on the back surface of the foot placing surface 40, while positioning to a space surrounded by the rib 42 is provided.
