摘要： A propeller for a boat having a plurality of recesses and a plurality of land portions arranged circumferentially alternately around an outer periphery of a propeller boss which is fitted over and connected to a propeller shaft. A boss of each of propeller blades and each of blade shafts disposed parallel to an axis of the propeller boss to rotatably support such propeller blade are accommodated in each of the recesses, and each of the land portions is provided with an exhaust passage extending axially through the land portion to permit an exhaust outlet in a body of a propelling device to be opened at a rear end face of the propeller boss. Thus, it is possible to discharge an exhaust gas from an engine through the inside of the propeller boss into water.

摘要： In a propeller for a boat, a plurality of recesses and a plurality of land portions are arranged circumferentially alternately around an outer Periphery of a propeller boss which is fitted over and connected to a propeller shaft. A boss of each of propeller blades and each of blade shafts disposed parallel to an axis of the propeller boss to rotatably support such propeller blade are accommodated in each of the recesses, and each of the land portions is provided with an exhaust passage extending axially through the land portion to permit an exhaust outlet in a body of a propelling device to be opened at a rear end face of the propeller boss. Thus, it is possible to discharge an exhaust gas from an engine through the inside of the propeller boss into water. In addition, an extension shaft is spline-fitted over and detachably secured to a Protrusion of the propeller shaft projecting rearwardly of the body of the propelling device to extend rearwardly from a rear end of the propeller shaft. The propeller boss is fitted over the extension shaft over its substantially entire length. The propeller blade is mounted around an outer periphery of a front half of the propeller boss, 90 that the propeller diameter or pitch angle can be varied, while a damper rubber is baked to an outer peripheral surface of the extension shaft and press-fitted into an annular recess which is defined around an inner periphery of a rear half of the propeller boss. Thus, a variable-thrust type propeller with a torque limiting device can be attached to a relatively short propeller shaft used for a usual propeller.

摘要： PURPOSE: To generate the turbulence around a boss with difficulty, to increase the propeller contraction ratio, and to employ the air discharge from the boss by forming a plurality of spiral interference-free groove corresponding to the pitch of a blade part where a part of the blade part of each blade is inserted into the outer circumferential surface of the boss when each blade is oscillated inwardly in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION: An interference-free groove 58 to receive a leading side part of an inner circumferential edge 51c of each blade 51 is formed on the outer circumferential surface of a boss 50 continuous to each recessed part 52 to allow each blade 51 to be oscillated inwardly in the radial direction without interference. The interference-free groove 58 is formed spiral corresponding to the pitch of the blade part 51, and the opening area of the interference-free groove 58 to the outer circumferential surface of the boss 50 can be suppressed to a necessary minimum. As a result, water smoothly flows along the boss 50 even when the propeller is increased in diameter to suppress the generation of the turbulence.
