SOLUTION: This optical switch has at least a substrate, the fixation member for fixing an optical fiber provided to the substrate, an optical fiber for transmission which is fixed to the fixation member and can elastically deform, the movable member made of a soft magnetic material which is provided as a cantilever structure, including the optical fiber as a beam for the fixation member, and a magnetic actuator which swings the movable member. The optical switch switches optical transmission, by swinging the movable member. A preventive member, which forms a bridge between the fixation member and movable member on the reverse side, is provided on the fixation surface of the optical fiber.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect electrically a switching position of an optical fiber by providing an electrode plate and a second movable yoke between two fixed yokes of magnetic poles of a permanent magnet and fitting electrodes to the electrode plate and two fixed yokes. SOLUTION: A movable yoke 104 is fixed to the tip of the optical fiber 111. The permanent magnet 101 and the electrode plate are fixed to a fixed block 107, and further, a second movable yoked 105 is fitted to the fixed block 107. One side of the end part of the second movable yoke 105 is in contact with the fixed yoke 102a wound with a coil 109. The coil 110 is wound around the fixed yoke 103a arranged on the opposite side of the fixed yoke 102a. Respective coil electrodes 117, 118 are fitted to the coils 109, 110. Respective electrodes 114, 116 are fitted to the fixed yokes 102a, 103a, and the electrode 115 is fitted to the second movable yoke 105. The electrode through which a current flows is changed according to the contact state of the second movable yoke 105 with the fixed yokes 102a, 103a.

    • PURPOSE: To offer a low-cost magnetic alloy composed of a single alloy based on Fe-Cr-Co, having a complex magnetic propety, excellent in workability and abound in mass-producibility.
      CONSTITUTION: A magnetic alloy comprises, by weight ratio 17W35% Cr, 8W20% Co, 0.1W10% Mo, 0.1W10% of one or more of V, Nb and Ta, and the balance being Fe. The alloy may contain 0.1W10% of one or more of Mn, Y, Cu, Zn, Al, C, R.E. and platinum-group metals as additional components. The alloy can be provided with a complex magnetic property by subjecting it to special heat treatment and working. That is, the complex magnetic property is obtained by solution-treating the alloy in an α+γ dual phase zone and utilizig the spinodal decomposition of each phase, a γ→α' transition mechanism and an age-precipitation-hardening mechanism so that mainly α contributes to a large coercive force while γ contributes to a small coercive force.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stably hold optical fibers by providing an optical switch with a casing for housing a switching means and a magnetic circuit and optical fiber supporting members disposed on the outside surface of the casing. SOLUTION: The optical switch has the casing 1, the switching means for the optical fibers disposed in the casing 1 and a cap member 2. The switching means of the optical fibers has a stationary block 11, a moving block 12, a static block 13 and a magnetic circuit for driving the switching means. The casing 1 and the cap member 2 are provided with the optical fiber supporting members 5 and 6 on their outside surfaces (flanks). The casing 1 and the cap member 2 are provided with notches 7 which are inlets and outlets for leading the optical fibers outside. The optical fiber supporting members 5 and 6 are fixed by metallization joining to the flanks of the casing 1 or the cap member 2 via metallic films 9 so as to enclose these notches.
