    • PURPOSE:To improve air-tightenness by shaping a nitrade ceramic heat-treated in air at the specific temp. after forming and sintering ceramic material. CONSTITUTION:In low pressure casting method of Al alloy casting, upper part of a holding furnace 1 is closed with a furnace cover and a blowing pipe 5 for compressed air is arranged as inserting into a crucible 2. Successively, a stoke 6 is arranged at the center pat of the furnace cover 4 so as to submerge in the molten Al alloy 3 at the lower end part thereof and also a metallic die 7 is set at upper part of the stoke 7. Then, in the case of supplying the compressed air into the crucible 2 under air-tightening condition from the blowing pipe 5, the molten Al alloy 3 can be pressed into the metallic die 7 through the stoke 6 to complete the casting. In this case, as the stoke 6, the ceramic material is shaped with the nitride ceramic heat-treated in air at 800 - 1300 deg.C after forming and sintering. Therefore, by heat-treatment under the oxidizing atmosphere, as it is acted that the porous inner face is coated with glass phase, exhaust of gas or air in the porocity is prevented. In this resulrt, the air- tightenness is improved and defect of blow hole and the other mixture of gas or air can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To load a compressive stress on the sintered alloy layer of an inner surface to improve resistances to abrasion and cracking, by a method wherein recesses and projections are formed on jointing boundaries between a cylindrical body and the sintered alloy layer to joint them while the amounts of shrinkage of the cylindrical body and the sintered allow layer from 800 deg.C to a normal temperature are specified. CONSTITUTION:The material of a metallic cylindrical body 1 is selected so as to have a linear expansion coefficient larger than the same of a sintered alloy 2 while recesses and projections 3 are formed on the jointing boundary between both of the cylindrical body and a sintered alloy layer to joint and integrate them, therefore, a compressive stress is applied on the sintered alloy layer. Both ends of the alloy layer 2 are embedded into the cylindrical body 1 in a condition that they are enveloped by the cylindrical body, therefore, the compressive stress of the alloy layer 2 is enhanced. The temperature of the starting point of shrinkage is 800 deg.C. Under a temperature exceeding 800 deg.C, both of the metallic cylindrical body and the sintered alloy layer are soft and cause plastic deformation easily, therefore, remaining stress will never be generated between both of them. The amount of shrinkage of the sintered alloy layer deltaA is made smaller than the amount of shrinkage deltaB of the metallic cylindrical body in order to provide the sintered alloy layer with a compressive stress.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the cleaning and painting treatment on the inside surface of a metallic mold by mounting a cleaning means and painting means as well as a lifting device for these means to a traveling carriage and providing separately a device for rotating the mold. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 4 is fixed in the position where a rotary brush 13 provided to the top end of the cleaning means is pressed to the inside surface 2' of the metallic mold 2 so as to contact therewith. A supporting bar 10 is lowered from the carriage 4 and the entire inside surface 2' is brushed from the top to bottom end of the metallic mold by the brush 13. The brush 13 is driven by a device 12 attached to the bar 10 and the bar 10 is moved upward and downward by a device 11 provided to the carriage 4. A base 1 is rotated to rotate the mold 2 and the inside surface 2' of the mold is brushed over the entire part thereof. The bar 10 is then raised and the driving device 12 and the brush 13 are housed into the carriage. A supporting bar 9 is then lowered by a vertical driving device 8 and a rotary disk 5 is rotated while a mold coating material is supplied. The painting operation is completed by repeating the movement from the top to bottom end of the metallic mold.

    • PURPOSE:To improve resistances to wear and trouble by combining the composition of components and distribution of hardness of an outer layer with the specific conditions of a core material and joining the outer layer to the core material into a prescribed strength. CONSTITUTION:A high Cr cast iron roll formed by metallurgically joining an outer layer of high Cr cast iron to a core material of cast, forged steel having a >=55kg/mm. strength and a >=1 elongation. Said high Cr cast iron contains in wt%, 2.5-3.5% C, 0.5-1.5% Si, 0.4-1.5% Mn, 0.5-3% Ni, 8-25% Cr, 1-5% Mo, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The molten metal of this high Cr cast iron is poured onto the outer circumference of core material and is metallurgically joined to the core material, to form the outer layer. And the joining strength of a boundary part between the outer layer and the core material is at least >= the lower strength of either of the outer layer or the core material. Further, the outer layer has a >=90 (Shore hardness) surface hardness.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve for die casting which can secure a long service life of a plunger tip and a sleeve inner cylinder without developing the difference in level between a fixed ring at the tip part and the sleeve inner cylinder even in the case of becoming high temp. during using the sleeve. SOLUTION: The sleeve inner cylinder 2 composed of a ceramic material is shrinkage-fitted into a sleeve outer cylinder 1 composed of a high strength low thermal expansion metallic material and the fixed rings 3a, 4 are arranged at the tip parts of the sleeve outer cylinder 1 to form the sleeve for die casting. Since the fixed ring 3a at the tip part is made of the high strength low thermal expansion metallic material, at the time of becoming a high temp. during using the sleeve, the difference of the coefficient of thermal expansion between the fixed ring at the tip part and the sleeve outer cylinder is small, and the difference of the coefficient of thermal expansion between the fixed ring 3a at the tip part and the sleeve inner cylinder 2 is small as well, and therefore, the difference in level is not caused between the fixed ring 3a at the tip part and the sleeve inner cylinder 2, and it can be prevented that molten metal is stuck to the step difference in level.
