    • PURPOSE:To form a three-dimensional tomographic image, by taking out two sets of projection data corresponding to the parts, which are mutually opposed so as to provide an interval therebetween, on the moving locus of a radiation detector and forming two tomographic images for left and right eye images. CONSTITUTION:The radiation from a radiation source 1 is incident to a radiation detector 3 through an object 2 to be examined and converted to an electric signal by an image pickup tube 4. The radiation source 1 and the radiation detector 3 are relatively moved so as to draw a closed loop curve having parts, wherein the respective moving loci in planes mutually parallel in positional relation are opposed to each other so as to provide an interval therebetween, in said mutually parallel planes. The output of the image pickup tube 4 is inputted to a memory apparatus 6 through an A/D converter 5. An operation apparatus 7 forms tomographic images for left and right eye images from the projection data stored in the memory apparatus to apply the same to a display apparatus 8.

Then, a distortion correction table is prepared and recorded 7 from the results of computation and is used to correct an image distortion.

CONSTITUTION:At the time of the weighted average, instead of making all picture element points in a window as a calculating object, by executing suitability the thinning and processing in accordance with a window size, in case, the image size, which is especially an object, is large, the window size comes to be also large, and therefore, substitution can be executed by the average of the thinned picture element point. Instead of executing the weighted average of all windows with the same weighting function, by changing over the weighting function in accordance with the local characteristic, the average in the most part of the window can be executed by a simple average calculation according to the image. Concretely, when the weighted average of a central picture element 32 is obtained, a slanting line part 310 only is calculated and the calculation of the white part 320 is omitted. At a window 410 which is not influenced, the simple average processing may be executed and the weighted average may be obtained only for an area 420 with a large influence.

    • PURPOSE:To measure image distortion with high accuracy, by arranging spherical distortion measuring members having high radiation absorptivity and a small diameter to the surface or interior of a plate-shaped support member, which has low radiation absorptivity and high rigidity, in a lattice pattern. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular support member 7 is formed of a material having low radiation absorptivity and high rigidity, for example, a synthetic resin or an acrylic resin. A large number of distortion measuring members 8 are arranged to the surface of interior of the support member 7 in a lattice pattern so that an adjacent interval (d) is provided by required quantity to form an image distortion measuring phantom 6. Each of the distortion measuring members 8 is formed of a material having high radiation absorptivity, for example, a small steel sphere. The diameter of the small sphere is set to about 0.1-5mm and the interval (d) is set to about 5-50mm. Points A'-D' where an image is formed in a distorted state are detected by an image intensifier using the phantom 6 as an object to irradiate the same with radioactive rays from a radiation source and converting said rays to visible light to be compared with points A-D where an image is supposed to be originally formed and image distortions P1-P4 are measured. By this method, image distortion is measured with high accuracy.
