摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a collaps following an expansion or contraction of a load owing to the charge and the discharge by arranging a thin plate, an expanding metal, or a spring, which is formed of a shape memory alloy, on the surface of the positive electrode opposing to the negative electrode of a nonaqueous type secondary cell. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 1 of a Li type alloy, a positive electrode 4 of a conductive high polymer, an insulating separator 2 between the positive electrode 4 and the negative electrode 1, and a thin plate 3 formed of a shape memory alloy on the surface of the positive electrode 4, opposing to the negative electrode 1, between the separator 2, are provided. Since the thin plate 3 is provided, the shape memory alloy is deformed by heating it up to a specific temperature after assembling the cell. As a result, a pressure is applied to the negative electrode 1 through the separator 2 by its springing effect. The compressed negative electrode 1 does not generate the Li in a dendritic form when it is discharged. Consequently, the collecting efficiency of the positive and the negative electrodes is improved, and at the same time, the assembling the cell can be made easier.

A nonaqueous system secondary battery is fabricated in such a way that the low melting point alloy 2 melt-spreaded on the current collector 3 in the negative electrode 4 has different composition from a low melting point alloy previously melt-spreaded on the inner surface of a battery container, and the negative electrode is melt-bonded to the container through the container side low melting point alloy. The container side low melting point alloy has lower melting point than the low melting point alloy used on the current collector.

The strength of the Li alloy is improved, and the negative electrode 1 can stably and continuously maintain its shape at the time of molding even if lithium is released by a discharge.

In the high potential lithium alloy, for ex. lithium-indium alloy, the ratio of litium to indium shall be below 1.0 by atomic ratio. The particles of high potential lithium alloy and particles of low potential lithium alloy shall be dispersed in the molding evenly. It is particularly favorable that the particles of high potential lithium alloy are attached to the surface of the particles of low potential lithium alloy.

Also the molding strength is enhanced. As a result, battery is concentrated locally in some electrode part to cause eduction of alkali metal, and frequency of occurrence of the dendritic short-circuiting reduced is, and further collapse due to expansion/ contraction associate with charging and discharging is inhibited. Thus the cycle life of the neg. electrode is enhanced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To increase mechanical strength with designed electrical performance retained by adding a specified amount of conductive powder to a negative electrode comprising a mixture of lithium alloy powder and an organic binder of a secondary battery. CONSTITUTION:Conductive powder containing at least one of carbon black and a conductive polymer is added to a negative electrode using lithium-lead- lanthanum(LiPbLa) powder as a negative active material and adding ethylene- propylene rubber(EPDM) thereto as an organic, binder so that the ratio of the total nitrogen absorbing area of the conductive powder to the weight of the organic binder is 3.5m /mg or more. The addition of the organic binder for increasing the mechanical strength of the negative electrode brings drop in its electrical performance, but the organic binder is selectively adsorbed by the carbon added. The mechanical strength of the negative electrode is increased with the electrical performance retained.

CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode for a nonaqueous secondary battery is in the shape of a fiber of concentrical structure of at least more than two layers and a metal layer 2 which readily combines with alkaline metal to convert into an alloy is provided in the outermost layer within the layers and a layer 1 which does not or scarcely combines with the alkaline metal to convert into the alloy is provided in that layer which is inscribed to the outermost layer. A metal current collector which is not swollen nor broken when the alkaline metal is converted into or recovered from the alloy is preferably provided as a core and a layer which converts the alkaline metal into the alloy and which recovers the alkaline metal from the alloy is provided outside the core, and also the layers are so molded that the true electrode reaction surface area is larger than the apparent electrode area. A negative electrode for a high performance nonaqueous secondary battery excellent in charge and discharge efficiency and cycle characteristic is thus obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight oxygen adsorbent easy to mold and fit for the purpose for which the adsorbent is used by molding a mixture of a reduced aniline polymer with a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:An aniline polymer obtd. by oxidation polymn. is reduced and this reduced polyaniline is powdered. The resulting powder is kneaded with a thermoplastic resin and formed into a sheet to produce an oxygen adsorbent. The aniline polymer is preferably reduced with a reducing agent such as hydrazine. In case of reduction with hydrazine, the polymer is reduced by immersion in an aq. hydrazine soln. for >=5hr. The thermoplastic resin is preferably PE, silicone resin or other resin having high oxygen permeability. The sheetlike oxygen adsorbent may be laminated on an oxygen impermeable film.
