CONSTITUTION:A module 1 having a function of unit cross point consists of switch amplifier MICs (microwave ICs) 3, 4 being active and spare ICs on a block conductor 2, the MIC group of the 1st layer comprising an output line directional coupler MIC5, and the MIC of the 2nd layer comprising an input line directional coupler MIC8 arranged upward similary the same as the lst layer in a flat duct 7 having nearly double thickness of the MIC substrate made of the earth conductor of the MIC group of the 1st layer and the slot of the block conductor 2. A microwave signal input is fed to a terminal 9, passes through a microwave strip line 10 and a directional coupler 11 constituted by arranging three lines closely and is given to an input terminal of an adjacent module from a terminal 12. Only a signal fed from the left to the directional coupler 11 is extracted at terminals 13, 14.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize the entire device by providing a line length adjusting section in a module so as to optimize the length of line thereby reducing the amount of reflection produced on input/output lines and eliminating the need for circuit components such as an isolator for absorbing a reflected wave. CONSTITUTION:A unit module 1 of a switch matrix is constituted in a form of a microwave integrated circuit, a directional coupler 4 of 1/4-wavelength is arranged on the way of a microstrip line 3 for input on a ceramic substrate 2 and a branched input signal is fed to an amplifier whose gain is variable. A resistive termination 6 is arranged at other end of a branch line so as to absorb the reflected wave. A signal switched on/off substantially by changing over the gain of the amplifier 5 is led to a resistive termination 9 from a directional coupler 8 comprising a microwave IC arranged at the back side from a through-hole 7 and a branched output is transmitted to an output line 10. The line length adjusting section 11 in which the input line 3 is meandered and a line length point contact section 12 of the output line 10 select a phase angle in the unit module as 0.5pi so as to reduce the input/output standing wave ratio as a whole for the combinations of many unit modules.

    • PURPOSE:To compensate non-linear distortion of a repeater loaded on a satellite by an earth station, by receiving a signal of the own station through a satellite by a transmitting station, comparing a demodulating signal of a specific channel in said signal with a transmitting signal, and controlling a distortion compensating circuit of the own station. CONSTITUTION:Input signals from plural signal input terminals 11 of a base station 2 are modulated by modulators 14-14'', and are synthesized by a signal synthesizing circuit 16. To the circuit 16, a non-modulated wave of the i-th channel of about center frequency of a band is inputted from an oscillator 15. An output of the circuit 16 is sent to a satellite repeater 1 through a distortion compensating circuit 17, a transmitter 18 and a transmitting and receiving branching filter 19. An output of the repeater 1 is received by the base station 2, is led to a channel selector 21 through the branching filter 19 and a receiver 20, the i-th channel is extracted by the selector 21, and it is led to a carrier wave-to-noise power ratio (C/N) measuring circuit 22. An output of the circuit 22 is led to a distortion compensating circuit controlling circuit 23, a parameter for deciding a non-linear characteristic of the circuit 17 is controlled so that a C/N value output of the circuit 22 becomes maximum, and non-linear distortion of the repeater 1 is compensated.

    • PURPOSE:To control the signal passing through a main circuit without giving any temporary deterioration to the signal, by using a nonlinear parameter of a nonlinear circuit which is contained in a thread divided from the main circuit to control a distortion compensating circuit. CONSTITUTION:A nonlinear circuit 5 has the nonlinear characteristics opposite to those of a distortion compensating circuit 2, and the general characteristics of the circuit 2, a repeater 1 and the circuit 5 are coincident only with those of the repeater 1. Now the nonlinear characteristics of the repeater 1 have a change, and therefore the compensation must be given again. In such a case, the nonlinear parameter of a distortion compensating circuit 6 is varied and then set so that the distortion is minimized by the circuit 6 for the output of the circuit 5. In this case, the nonlinear parameter of the circuit 6 should be coincident with the optimum nonlinear parameter of the circuit 2 which compensates the distortion of the repeater 1. Therefore the parameter of the circuit 2 is set again in response to the amount of nonlinear parameter of the circuit 6.

    • PURPOSE:To realize a transponder for in-satellite switching time division multiple access satellite communication system of single conversion, by using a frequency converter making a local oscillator variable. CONSTITUTION:Transmission is done from each earth station so that a burst up-link signal (link from an earth station to a satellite) can not be overlapped with each other. In a satellite, up-link signals with f1-fn frequencies are received from antennas 1-1-1-N and amplified at a low noise amplifier 3. The amplified burst signal is frequency-converted with time division at a frequency converter 4, the converting frequency of which is timewise switched by controlling the oscillating frequency of local oscillators 5'-1-5'-N with a switching control circuit 10'. The frequency converted signal is synthesized for power and split at a power synthesizing splitter 11, rearranged by destination with band pass filters 12-1-12-N, amplified at a high output amplifer 9 and transmitted to an earth station from antennas 2-1-2-N.
