摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm intuitively and instantly that an image display device is in a standby state. SOLUTION: In an image display device in which a DAC(Digital to Analog Converter) for outputting a image signal to a image signal terminal stops in the standby state, voltage is applied to the image signal terminal without passing through the DAC in the standby state. In this configuration, the standby state is indicated by displaying a fixed color on the entire screen of a monitor. Hence the confirmation of the standby state can be made instantly and intuitively even while driving a car.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in picture quality even in the case of displaying with various application programs by mapping from the color data of (a) bits to a color set in a color palette and gradation-reducing to the color data of (m) bits equal to or smaller than (a) bits. SOLUTION: In the case of an index color mode, a display of an image reads out successively the index pixel data stored in a frame buffer 141, and converts the index pixel data to the RGB data by the color palette 132 to send them to a DAC 133. A CPU 11 converts the image data to the color data of (a) bits, and selects a pixel conversion filter 112 long in processing time in the case of displaying a still image, and selects the pixel conversion filter 112 short in processing time in the case of displaying an animation. Then, the CPU 11 maps from the color data of (a) bits to the color set in the color palette 132, and gradation-reduces to the color data of (m) bits equal to or smaller than (a) bits.

摘要： PURPOSE:To contrive the high speed of a processing to calculate the continuous length of the same color picture elements by converting run length data into address signals with a converting means to be hardware, and accessing a memory. CONSTITUTION:A means 11 is provided which generates the run length data to apply the continuous length from a change point to the next change point in the respective picture element data on a scanning line in the range from a minimum value to a maximum value. Run length data RL4 to RL15 outputted from the run length data generating means 11 are converted and generated to memory address signals MA1 to MA9 for a RAM10 by a converting means 12. Consequently, when the number of the picture elements included in one scanning line is >=the memory capacity of the RAM 10, since the number of the exchange of the data for the RAM10 is taken into consideration, and the continuous length is calculated, a software processing is made unnecessary. Thus, the processing to calculate the continuous length of the same color picture elements can be shortened by a time consumed for such a software processing as usual.
