摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type projection liquid crystal display device with which efficiency for utilizing the quantity of light can be improved when splitting/synthesizing beams on a dichroic mirror or a dichroic prism. SOLUTION: After projection light is made incident from a direction vertical to the optical axis of a projection lens and a plane including the normal of dielectric multi-layer film provided for 1st and 2nd dichroic mirrors 6 and 7 or 1st and 2nd dichroic prisms, this light is reflected toward the dichroic mirrors 6 and 7 or the dichroic prisms on a full reflection mirror 4. Thus, efficiency for utilizing the quantity of light for splitting/synthesizing beams on the dichroic mirrors 6 and 7 or the dichroic prisms, on which the dielectric multi-layer film is deposited, can be improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the unevenness of brightness and the irregularity of color in a large screen by converting an image by a transmission type liquid crystal element to the flux of collimated beam of light by means of a Fresnel lens and projecting it to a screen in contact with the lens. CONSTITUTION:Emitted light from the light source of the lamp house 1 of a display module 10 is transmitted through the transmission type liquid crystal element 2 which is controlled in accordance with an image signal. The image light being the transmitted light is made incident on the Fresnel lens 4 and converted to the flux of collimated beam of light, then projected to the screen by the lens 4. Then, plural same modules 10 are combined to make the large screen displayed.The directivity 6 of the light is in an identical direction and is not changed at the joint of the screen, so that the unevenness of the brightness of display caused by the rapid change of the brightness is prevented and the irregularity of color is prevented by controlling the each color light transmissivity of the element 2 by adjusting bias voltage which is supplied to the element 2.

This light valve 4 is stored with color information on red and reflected light from the light valve 4 travels through the same optical path with the light in the projection in the opposite direction and is reflected by the dichroic mirror 21 to return to the lens 14.
