    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway car structure capable of concurrently achieving weight reduction, high rigidity and high strength in a railway car including an engine and a generator.SOLUTION: Louver window sections 24, 24 formed in hollow extruded shape constituting a side structure 20 are comprised of two triangular openings formed by partitioning a rectangular opening along a diagonal line. The diagonal line is extended from an upper corner at the end of the side structure 20 in the longitudinal direction to a lower corner in the central direction, and the corner of the opening is rounded. A louver window reinforcing member 50 is fitted to the end of the opening with a clearance formed therebetween and is joined to a cabin side face board of the side structure 20. In such a structure, a shearing load working on the side structure due to a heavy object such as an engine or a generator is burdened by the reinforcing joined to the hollow extruded shape positioned on the diagonal line and an opening periphery. Thus, even the railway car structure made of aluminum alloy with low rigidity and strength can restrain deformation of an opening formed in the side structure that tends to have concentrated deformation.
