    • PURPOSE:To make overwriting as well as superhigh-density magneto-optical recording possible to a magneto-optical recording film by constituting the film by alternately piling up a layer made of a recording material of at least one of Pt, Pd, Rh, and Au elements and another layer made of an alloy of at least one of Pt, Pd, Rh, and Au elements and at least one of Fe and Co elements and adding at least one of Nd, Ti, Ta, Cr, and Al elements to each layer with a concentration gradient in the film thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:This magneto-optical recording film is constituted by alternately piling up an iron group element layer 2 of Co93Nb7 and precious metal element layer 3 of Pt on an optically transparent glass or plastic substrate 1. The film thicknesses of each layer 2 and 3 are respectively set at 12Angstrom and 23Angstrom and, when the total thickness of the piled up layers 2 and 3 reach 200Angstrom , the component of the iron group element layer 2' is changed from the CoNb to Co so that an Nb gradient can be obtained in the thickness direction of the recording film.     • PURPOSE:To use a magnetooptic recording film having sufficiently large vertical magnetically anisotropic energy to stably store recorded information by making a magnetic feature of a ferrite magnetic body of a rare earth-iron alloy layer constituting a magnetic force together with an alternately layered multilayered film have priority in sub lattice magnetization of the rare earth element. CONSTITUTION:On a side where light for regeneration is incident, a multilayered film is provided wherein a layer made of at least one kind of element of Pt, Pd, Rh and Au and an alloy layer made of at least one kind of Fe, Co and Ni or at least one kind of Fe, Co and Ni and at least one kind of element of Pt, Pd, Rh, Au, Tb, Dy, Ho, Gd, Nd, Pr and Sm are alternately layered, and an alloy layer mainly containing rare earth elements having vertical magnetic anisotropy and iron group elements are formed on the above alloy layer so that they are magnetically coupled to each other. A magnetooptic recording film is thus formed of the above two kinds of magnetic layers.
