    • PURPOSE:To decrease a fault detection time caused in a high speed digital line by averaging a state monitor interval relating to a high speed digital line, and deciding the order of polling in the monitor system giving polling to a high speed multiplex concentration and distribution device so as to monitor the state of a high speed digital network. CONSTITUTION:Based on the priority of high speed digital lines 30-43, a line subject to polling (called a polling line to high speed multiplex concentrating and distribution device) is decided to a relevant multiplex concentration and distribution device among high speed multiplex concentrating and distribution devices 20-27 till a polling table is circulated. Then any of the high speed multiplex concentrating and distribution device connecting to a high speed digital line is subjected the polling. Then a time interval required for the polling to any of the high speed multiplex concentrating and distribution device connecting to the high speed digital line again (called the state monitor interval relating to the high speed digital line) is selected to be a quotient of the polling period divided by the sum of number of times of polling to the high speed multiplex concentrating and distribution device connecting to the high speed digital line (called the average state monitor interval of high speed digital line).

    • PURPOSE:To improve the deterioration in the communication state caused by the variation in the frequency deviation of each earth station by selecting an earth station irradiating an optimum pilot signal automatically. CONSTITUTION:The 1st earth station 10, the 2nd earth station 20 and the 3rd earth station 30 send respectively transmission signals 14, 24, 34 respectively to a satellite 40 and receive reception signals 16, 26, 36 from the satellite for the communication. Further, a signal (pilot signal) being a reference of the communication is sent in the transmission signal from any station and each station decides the frequency and reception level of the signal received by the own station in matching with the frequency and output of the pilot signal. When a station irradiating the more optimum pilot signal than that of the own station is found out in the earth stations irradiating the pilot signal, the transfer request of the pilot signal is supplied to the said earth station.

    • PURPOSE:To quicken the detection of fault occurrence by providing a function generating a fault status report where an instantaneous failure status of each communication line and each node, a fault status based on the result of monitor within a prescribed time while being roughly classified depending on the fault status and a function sending the report to a network management center to each node. CONSTITUTION:Multiplexers 1,2 are connected to a ground high speed digital line 4 by a satellite line 7. The fault information at the instantaneous time and withinprescribed time collected by the multiplexer 1 is classified depending on the fault state and communicated to the center 11 in a form of a status word, for example. Moreover, the multiplexer 1 is provided with a function monitoring the state of the communication line and the multiplexer 1 itself at a sampling time interval, a function generating the fault status report comprising the result of monitor of a specified time and the instantaneous value at present in a form of status word, for example, aud a function returning the report in a form of the status word in response to the polling from the center 11. Thus, the time till the detection of fault occurrence is shortened.
