    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the set-up through the linear regression of the transformation heat and the specific heat by superposing the transformation heat on the specific heat curve of a material to be cooled, and approximating the specific heat curve to which the transformation heat is superposed by the broken line in controlling the spray. SOLUTION: In a spray cooling equipment of a hot rolling system, a parameter generating mechanism 10 is provided with the specific heat curve generating function 7 to perform linear approximation of the specific heat using the information of the physical properties of the database 13, the transformation heat curve generating function 8 to perform linear approximation of three points of the transformation curve using the information on the physical properties of the database 13, and the specific heat curve generating function 9 taking into consideration the transformation heat which synthesizes the parameters generated by the functions 7, 8 to generate the specific heat curve taking into consideration the transformation heat. The specific heat linear generating function 7 performs the linear approximation of the specific heat. The specific heat relationship taking into consideration the transformation heat is obtained by the transformation heat curve generating function 8 to consider the transformation heat associated with the composition change in iron. Linear approximation is performed by three points using the specific heat curve 9 considering the transformation heat to perform the regression.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a continuous steel sheet rolling mill by which the quality of a product in the nose and rear end of the product is improved by performing set changing while continuing an AGC (automatic gage control) control without performing an FGC (flying gage change) control at a setting changing point between approximate schedules. SOLUTION: It is judged to use either of the FGC control or the AGC control by comparing a rolling schedule at a setting changing point which is calculated by a rolling model mechanism 5 by an FGC judging mechanism 8. In the case of using the FGC control, it is judged that an FGC suppressing mechanism 85 is the FGC control between the approximate schedules and whether it is processable by only the AGC control or not and, in the case of YES, the rolling schedule is adjusted within an allowable range of the AGC control by an FGC adjusting mechanism 10A. In the case it is not processable by only the AGC control, a rolling schedule is adjusted by an FGC adjusting mechanism 10B so that the FGC control is preferentially used at stands in the early stage of a plurality of stands which comprise the continuous rolling mill and the rolling schedule is adjusted as so to use the AGC control at the stands in the post-stage.
