摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a titled electrolytic cell which separates metallic ions having radioactivity selectively from regenerated ion exchanging liquid by providing >=2 sheets of bipolar plates produced by using a conductive material which does not dissolve even when bipolarized as a base plate and mounting a conductive and exchangeable material having large surface area in the cathode part of said plate between supporting electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The above-described electrolytic cell is disposed with an anode plate 1 and a cathode 2 for supporting on the right and left. Plural sheets of bipolar plates each produced by bringing carbon fibers into contact with the cathode part 4 of a base plate 3 such as a graphite plate which is conductive and does not dissolve even when anodized are installed between said anode and cathode. Such bipolar plates are installed at equal interval so as to avoid contacting with each other, and the materials such as carbon fibers that have conductivity, have large surface areas and provide large reducing potential of respective metallic ions are brought into contact with the one side of the base plates 3 to serve as cathode. In the above-mentioned constitution, waste liquid 6 is supplied from the upper part of the electrolytic cell, and the metallic ions having radioactivity are reduced and are electrolytically deposited with the respective carbon fiber members 4 in the electrode arranging part, whereby said metallic ions are removed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To regenerate the residual liquid of a regenerated liquid after a harmful component is selectively separated, by a method wherein the regenerated liquid of an ion exchange resin is electrolytically precipitated or electrically neutralized in an electrolytic tank filled with activated carbon and the treated regenerated liquid is thereafter electrolyzed in the electrolytic tank through an ion exchange membrane. CONSTITUTION:In treating the regenerated liquid of an ion exchange resin containing a radioactive substance, cobalt ion and iron oxide are removed at first in an electrolytic tank 24 filled with activated carbon or carbon particles by electrolytic precipitation or electrical neutralization. The treated liquid is fed into a diaphragm electrolytic tank 26 to carry out electrolysis to separate an acid and an alkali. As described above, a harmful component such as a heavy metal ion or an expensive valuable component is selectively separated at first and the residual liquid is reused as a regenerating agent to prevent the diffusion of a discharged substance.

摘要： Provided is a method of cleaning cooling tubes of a heat transfer unit including a steam chamber through which the cooling tubes extend and into which steam generated in a steam power generating plant is introduced so as to exchange heat with a cooling water flowing through the cooling tubes. A cleaning bodies are introduced into the cooling water and then distributed to the cooling tubes so as to clean the latter. According to the present invention, the cooling tubes are divided into a plurality of groups each including a plurality of the cooling tubes having the same trends of cleanliness, and the cleaning bodies are respectively introduced to the groups with respective amounts suitable for cleaning the cooling tubes of each group on acount of the cleanliness of the cooling tubes of each group. Further, a system for cleaning cooling tubes of a heat transfer unit is provided for conducting the above method.

摘要： A sorting apparatus for sorting elastic balls for cleaning the inner surfaces of heat transfer tubes of a heat exchanger. The apparatus comprises a casing having a cylindrical cross-section, an inlet pipe connected to an upper portion of the wall of the casing and adapted to introduce the elastic balls together with the cooling water, a substantially frusto-conical separation sleeve disposed at the center of the casing and having a peripheral wall in which formed are a multiplicity of apertures shaped and sized to permit only the worn out elastic balls smaller than a predetermined size to pass therethrough, an annular swirling passage defined between the inner peripheral surface of the casing and the outer peripheral surface of the separation sleeve and adpated to impart a swirl to the cooling water suspending the elastic balls and introduced into the casing, an outlet pipe connected to a lower portion of the wall of the casing and adapted for taking out the valid elastic balls greater than the predetermined size, and a discharge pipe also connected to the casing and adapted for discharging the worn out elastic balls which have been introduced into the separation sleeve.
